Prayers.

Bankrupts Estates.

ORDERED, That Leave be given to bring in a Bill for the better Discovery of Bankrupts Estates, and for the more equal Distribution thereof, without any Retrospect: And that Mr. Serjeant Wogan do prepare and bring in the same.

Building Ships.

Ordered, That Leave be given to bring in a Bill for the encouraging the building of good and defensible Ships: And that Mr. Boscowen do prepare and bring in the same.

Fees in Law Courts.

Ordered, That the several Courts in Westminster Hall, the Clerks of the Peace for the Counties of Middlesex and Surry, and the Clerk of the Assize of the HomeCircuit, do, on this Day Sevennight, present to this House a Table of the several Fees, belonging to their several Courts and Offices, established in the Reign of Queen Elizabeth; and also a Table of such Fees as are now taken by them.

Frequent Parliaments.

Mr. Brockman presented to the House a Bill for the more frequent Elections of Parliaments: And the same was received, and read.

But the same being presented without Blanks, Leave was given to him to withdraw the same:

And he withdrew the same accordingly.

Ordered, That he present another Bill, with Blanks, to the House.

Free Proceedings in Parliament.

Sir Edward Hussey presented to the House a Bill touching free and impartial Proceedings in Parliament: And the same was received, and read the First time.

Resolved, That the Bill be read a Second time, upon Friday Morning next.

Supply Bill; importing Brandy, &c.

Ordered, That Leave be given to bring in a Bill to repeal a Clause, in the Act made in the First Year of their Majesties Reign for prohibiting all Trade and Commerce with France, which prohibits the Importation of Brandy, Aqua-Vitæ, and other Spirits.

And Sir Thomas Clarges presented the Bill to the House: And the same was received, and read the First time.

Resolved, That the Bill be read a Second time.

Trials for Treason.

Sir William Whitlock presented to the House a Bill for regulating of Tryals in Cases of Treason, and Misprision of Treason: And the same was received.

And a Motion being made, and the Question being put, That the Bill be now read;

The House divided.

The Yeas go forth.

So it passed in the Negative.

Ordered, That the Bill be read upon Thursday Morning next.

5th Eliz. respecting Cloth Weavers.

Ordered, That Leave be given to bring in a Bill to repeal the 32th Clause or Article in the Statute of 5° Eliz. intituled, An Act containing divers Orders for Artificers, Labourers, Servants of Husbandry, and Apprentices: And that Sir John Guise do prepare and bring in the same.

Clothing Trade.

Resolved, That a Committee be appointed to inspect all the Laws concerning Clothing; and to prepare and bring in a Bill for the better Encouragement of the Clothing Trade of this Kingdom.
