Prayers.

Lord Shannon's Estate.

MR. Charles Boyle reported from the Committee to whom the ingrossed Bill from the Lords, intituled, An Act for settling the Estate of Francis Boyle Lord Viscount Shannon in the Kingdom of Ireland, was committed, That they had examined and considered the same; and had directed him to report the same to the House, without any Amendments: And he delivered the same in at the Clerk's Table.

Williams' Estate.

Mr. Price reported from the Committee to whom the ingrossed Bill from the Lords, intituled, An Act to enable Sir John Williams, of Langibby Castle in the County of Monmouth, Baronet, to sell the Manors of Ewyas, Lacy, Waterston, and Trescaillen, and other Lands in the County of Hereford, and the Manor of Carwent, and other Lands in the County of Monmouth, for Payment of Debts, was committed, That they had made several Amendments to the Bill; which they had directed him to report to the House: And which he read in his Place, with the Coherence; and afterwards delivered in at the Clerk's Table: Where the same were once read throughout; and are as followeth; viz.

Press 7. L. 30. after "begotten," insert "or to or for the said Hopton Williams, and the Heirs Males of his Body."

Pr. 8. L. 15. after the First "the," leave out "Issue;" and insert "Heirs."

L. 17. after the Second "begotten," insert "the said Lady Katherine."

L. 23. after "Heirs," insert "Executors and Administrators."

The said Amendments, being severally read a Second time, one by one, were, upon the Question severally put thereupon, agreed unto by the House.

Pitt's Estate.

An ingrossed Bill from the Lords, intituled, An Act to enable Trustees to sell Part of the Lands and Tenements of Mathew Pitt, Esquire, and Robert Pit, Gentleman, for Payment of Debts, and to settle the rest of the Lands upon the said Mathew and Robert, and the Wife of the said Robert, and their Issue, was read the Third time.

Resolved, That the Bill do pass: And that the Title be agreed to.

Ordered, That Mr. Hobby do carry the Bill to the Lords; and acquaint them, That this House hath agreed to the same, with an Amendment: To which they desire their Lordships Concurrence.

A Message from the Lords, by Sir Miles Cook and Sir John Hoskins;

Mr. Speaker,

Fines and Recoveries in Glamorganshire.

The Lords have passed a Bill, intituled, An Act to set aside Amendments and Alterations made in the Records and Writs of a Fine, and Two Recoveries, in the Grand Sessions held for the County of Glamorgan: To which they desire the Concurrence of this House.

Repairs of united Churches.

And also, a Bill, intituled, An Act to make Parishioners of the Church united Contributors to the Repairs and Ornaments of the Church to whom the Union is made; To which they desire the Concurrence of this House.

And then the Messengers withdrew.

Fines and Recoveries in Glamorganshire.

Ordered, That the said ingrossed Bill, intituled, An Act to set aside Amendments and Alterations made in the Records and Writs of a Fine, and Two Recoveries, in the Grand Sessions held for the County of Glamorgan, be read upon Monday Morning next, at Eleven a Clock.

Lotteries.

Information being made to this House, That a worthy Member, who is of the Committee to whom the Bill for prohibiting the Use of all Lotteries is committed, was offered some Sums of Money to delay the Proceedings upon that Bill;

Ordered, That the Examination of the said Matter be referred to the same Committee: And that they do report the same to the House: And that they be impowered to send for Persons: And the said Committee is to sit this Afternoon, at the Place formerly appointed.

Election Returns.

Ordered, That the ingrossed Bill to prevent false and double Returns of Members to serve in Parliament, be read upon Monday Morning next.

Ways and Means.

Resolved, That this House do immediately resolve itself into a Committee of the whole House, to consider further of Ways and Means for raising the Supply to be granted to their Majesties for the carrying on a vigorous War against France.

And the House resolved itself into a Committee accordingly.

Mr. Speaker resumed the Chair.

Mr. Mountague reported from the said Committee, That they had considered the Matter to them referred; and agreed upon a Resolution; which they had directed him to report to the House: And which he read, in his Place; and afterwards delivered in at the Clerk's Table: Where the same was read; and is as foll. viz.

Resolved, That it is the Opinion of this Committee, That towards the raising the Supply to be granted to their Majesties, the Duties payable by an Act made in the Second Year of their Majesties Reign, intituled, An Act for granting to their Majesties certain Impositions upon all East India Goods and Manufactures, and upon all Wrought Silks, and several other Goods and Merchandizes, to be imported after the Twenty-fifth Day of December 1690, be continued until the Tenth Day of November 1697.

The said Resolution being read a Second time;

Resolved, That this House doth agree with the Committee in the said Resolution, That, towards the raising the Supply to be granted to their Majesties, the Duties payable by an Act made in the Second Year of their Majesties Reign, intituled, An Act for granting to their Majesties certain Impositions upon all East India Goods and Manufactures, and upon all Wrought Silks, and several other Goods and Merchandize, to be imported after the Twenty-fifth Day of December 1690, be continued until the Tenth Day of November 1697.

Ordered, That Mr. Attorney General and Mr. Solicitor General do prepare a Clause upon the said Resolution, to be brought into the Bill which is already ordered to be prepared upon the former Resolutions of the House for the Supply to their Majesties; and also a Clause of Credit, for the Sum of Five hundred thousand Pounds.

Supply Bill; Poll Tax,

A Bill for the Review of the Bill for the quarterly Poll, was read the Second time.

Resolved, That the Bill be committed to a Committee of the whole House.

Ordered, That the Committee have Power to consider of, and add, an explanatory Clause.

East India Trade.

Then the House resumed the adjourned Debate, touching the East India Trade.

Address for dissolving the East India Company.

Resolved, That an humble Address be presented to his Majesty, That he will please to dissolve the East India Company, upon Three Years Warning to the said Company, according to the Power reserved in their Charter.

Resolved, That the said Address be presented by the whole House.

Ordered, That such Members of this House as are of his Majesty's most honourable Privy Council do humbly know his Majesty's Pleasure, when his Majesty will please to be attended by this House.

Bromhall's Debts.

Ordered, That Mr. Arnold, Sir Walter Young, Colonel Kirby, Sir Fr. Massam, Sir Tho. Littleton, be added to the Committee to whom the Bill for the Sale of such Interest as Tho. Bromhall an Infant, hath in the Office of the Warden of the Fleet, and in Thirteen Houses adjoining, and in an Office of the Custody and Keeping of the Palace at Westminster, for the more effectual Payment of Debts, is committed.

Stephens' Estate.

Ordered, That Mr. Goldwell, * Wyndham, be added to the Committee to whom the Bill from the Lords, intituled, An Act for settling the Estate of Wm. Stephens, late of Greenwich in the County of Kent, is committed.

Prohibiting Trade with France.

Resolved, That this House will, upon Tuesday Morning next, at Eleven a Clock, resolve itself into a Committee of the whole House, to consider farther of the Bill for continuing the Acts for prohibiting all Trade and Commerce with France, and for encouragement of Privateers.

London Orphans.

A Petition of Francis Bradbury, Ellen Panck, and Grace Bell, was presented to the House, and read; setting forth, That Two hundred and Fifty Pounds was put into the Chamber of London by the Petitioners Father, deceased, for their Livelyhood, at less Interest than usual; which, notwithstanding, is amounted to One hundred Pounds; and if the Revenue of the City, which is charged therewith, be otherwise disposed, they must lose their Money: That the House hath taken into Consideration the Condition of the City Orphans: And praying to be equally relieved with them.

And a Debate arising thereupon;

Resolved, That the Debate be adjourned until Monday Morning next, before the House do resolve itself into a Committee of the whole House, to consider of the said Bill.

Committees.

Ordered, That all Committees be revived.

And then the House adjourned till Monday Morning, Eight a Clock.
