Selling live Cattle.

A BILL to prevent Butchers selling live Cattle was read the Second time.

Resolved, That the Bill be committed, upon the Debate of the House, to Mr. Christy, Sir Richard Hart, Mr. Wilmott, Sir Wm. Convex Lights.

A Petition of Thomas Hobbs, and others, on behalf of themselves and Partners, was read; settingforth, That, by a Patent to them granted for the sole Use of Convex Lights, they have, at their great Charge and Trouble, brought the same to Perfection, at their Cost of many Thousand Pounds more than they have received, or can possibly receive, before the Time of the said Patent will be expired: And praying Leave to bring in a Bill for the granting to them the sole Use of such Lights, for such longer Term as the House should think fit.

Resolved, That a Committee be appointed to prepare and bring in a Bill, according to the said Petition.

A Bill for transferring the Collection of the Duty of Aulnage to the Custom-house, and for giving a Recompence to the Crown for the same, was read the Second time.

Tryals for Treason.

Then the Order of the Day for reading the Bill for Regulating of Tryals, in Cases of High Treason, was read.

Ordered, That the Serjeant do go, with the Mace, into Westminster Hall, and to the several Courts, and into the Court of Requests; and summon the Members there to attend the Service of the House.

And he went accordingly.

And being returned;

The said Bill was read the Second time.

And the Question being put, That the Bill be committed;

The House divided.

So it was resolved in the Affirmative.

Resolved, That the Bill be committed to a Committee of the whole House.

Resolved, That this House will, upon Thursday Morning next at Ten a Clock, resolve itself into a Committee of the whole House, to consider of the said Bill.

Privilege- Persons discharged from Custody.

Ordered, That John Dent, William Loder, and John Smith, ordered to be taken into the Custody of the Serjeant at Arms, for a Breach of Privilege, be discharged out of Custody, without paying any Fees.

Treaties and Alliances.

Sir Joseph Williamson reported from the Committee appointed to translate the Treaties and Alliances laid before the House, That they had translated the said Treaties; and prepared Abstracts: Which he delivered in at the Clerk's Table.

Transport Service.

Ordered, That the Lord Marquis of Winchester, Sir William Strickland, and Mr. Sherrard, be added to the Committee to whom the Examination of the Papers presented to the House, by the Commissioners for Transportation, was referred.

And then the House adjourned till To-morrow Morning, Nine a Clock.
