Baines' Estate.

A BILL for vesting several Houses within the City of London, late the Estate of John Baines, Gentleman, deceased, in Trustees, to be sold for the Payment of Debts, was read the Second time.

Punishing Mutiny and Desertion.

Sir John Guise reports from the Committee to whom was committed the Clause to be added to the Bill for punishing Officers and Soldiers, who shall mutiny, or desert their Majesties Service, and for punishing false Musters, That they had agreed upon several Amendments to be made to the Clause: Which he read in his Place, with the Coherence; and afterwards delivered the same in at the Clerk's Table: Where the same were once read throughout; and then a Second time, one by one: And, with some Amendments made thereunto, the same were, upon the Question severally put thereupon, agreed unto by the House.

Ordered, That the Bill, with the Amendments, and the said Clause, so amended, be ingrossed.

Leave for Members to attend Lords.

Ordered, That Mr. Solicitor-General, and Mr. Finch, have Leave to attend the Lords, as Counsel, in a Cause between Dodd and Burroughes.

Furnishing Seamen.

Ordered, That Mr. Godolphin be added to the Committee to whom the Bill for the more effectual furnishing their Majesties Navy with Seamen, in Time of War, is committed.

Transport Service.

A Petition of several Masters of Transport Ships, on behalf of themselves, and others concerned, was presented to the House.

Resolved, That the said Petition be read.

Lucy's Estate.

A Message from the Lords, by Sir Miles Cooke and Mr. Keck;

Mr. Speaker, The Lords have passed a Bill, intituled, An Act for securing the Portion of Mrs. Eliz. Lucy, and breeding her up a Protestant; and for transferring the Trust for that Purpose; to which they desire the Concurrence of this House.

And then the Messengers withdrew.

Supply.

Then the House resumed the adjourned Debate upon his Majesty's Gracious Speech to both Houses of Parliament, on Tuesday last.

And a Motion being made for a Supply to be granted to their Majesties for the Support of the Civil Government;

Resolved, That this House will, upon Thursday Morning next, at Ten of the Clock, resolve itself into a Committee of the whole House, to consider of the said Motion.

Ways and Means.

Then the House, according to the Order of the Day, resolved itself into a Committee of the whole House, to proceed further in the Consideration of Ways and Means for raising the Supplies to be granted to their Majesties.

Attainting Persons in Rebellion.

Ordered, That the Committee who were appointed to prepare a Bill for Attainting the Persons that are or have been in Rebellion in England or Ireland, and for confiscating their Estates; and for applying the same to bear the Charge of the War; upon the Debate of the House; be brought in upon Saturday Morning next: And that it be recommended to the Care of Sir Charles Porter, and Sir Rich. Reinolds: And the said Committee is to meet this Afternoon, at Five a Clock, in the Speaker's Chamber.

Act of Navigation respecting English Seamen.

Ordered, That Captain Pitts be added to the Committee to whom the Bill for suspending, during the War with France, that Part of the Act of Navigation, which obliges English Ships to sail with English Seamen. . . .
