Macclesfield's Estate.

A BILL to enable Ralph Macclesfeild to sell Lands for Payment of Debts, and making Provision for his Wife and Child, was read the First time.

Resolved, That the Bill be read a Second time.

Manwareing's Estate.

A Bill to vest the Freehold and Inheritance of certain Lands, Tenements, and Hereditaments, in the County of Chester, of Thomas Manwareing, Gentleman, in certain Trustees, to be sold for Payment of Debts, was read the First time.

Resolved, That the Bill be read a Second time.

Bernadiston's Estate.

A Bill to free the Estate of Sir Sam. Bernadiston, Baronet, from several Incumbrances, occasioned by a Judgment heretofore given against him, upon an Information in the Court of King's Bench at Westminster, was read a Second time.

Resolved, That the Bill be committed to Mr. Serjeant Wogan, Mr. Ettrick, Sir Jos. Williamson, Sir Phil. Skippon, Mr. Hutchinson, Sir Rob. Davers, Mr. Arnold, Mr. Pelham, Sir Cha. Bloys, Sir Tho. Clarges, Mr. Papillion, Sir Rob. Rich, Mr. Harcourt, Mr. Fenwick, Mr. Clarke, Sir Jerv. Elwes, Mr. Blowfeild, Mr. Freeman, Mr. Chadwick, Mr. Biddulph, Mr. England, Sir Rob. Cotton, Sir Walt. Young, Mr. Beare, Mr. Hawtry, Sir Edw. Hussey, Lord Sherrard, Mr. Foley, Mr. Price, Mr. Robinson, Mr. Cooke, Mr. Kynaston, Mr. Thornhaugh, Sir Tho. Bernadiston: And they are to meet this Afternoon at Four a Clock, in the Speaker's Chamber: And are impowered to send for Persons, Papers, and Records.

A Petition of Sir John Barker, Baronet, a Member of this House, was read; setting forth, That, by the Bill brought into the House by Sir Sam. Bernadiston, there are many Clauses which will prejudice the Petitioner's Estate, without any Reason: And the Petitioner lying under an Indisposition of Sickness, and praying the House to take his Case into Consideration, and not suffer the said Bill to pass, till he shall be in such a Condition of Health as to be able to attend his Duty in this House, to make his just Exceptions to the Bill; or otherwise, that a Clause may be inserted therein, to secure the Petitioner and his Estate.

Ordered, That the Consideration of the said Petition be referred to the Committee to whom the Bill to free the Estate of Sir Sam. Bernadiston from several Incumbrances, occasioned by a Judgment heretofore given against him, upon an Information in the Court of King's Bench at Westminster, is committed.

The House being informed, that Sir Tho. Bernadiston, Baronet, a Member of this House, was concerned in the said Bill; and desired to be heard touching the same;

Ordered, That the said Sir Tho. Bernadiston be heard before the said Committee also, touching the said Bill.

East India Company.

A Petition of George White, Administrator of Samuel White, deceased, against the East India Company, was presented to the House.

Ordered, That the said Petition be read, when the Petition of the East India Company, formerly presented to the House, shall be read.

A Petition of John and Thom. Temple, Owners of the Ship Bristoll, of London, against the East India Company, was presented to the House.

Ordered, That the said Petition be read, when the Petition of the East India Company, formerly presented to the House, shall be read.

Earl of Salisbury's Estate.

An ingrossed Bill from the Lords, intituled, An Act for the limiting the Power of James, now Earl of Salisbury, to cut off the Intail of his Estate, was read the First time.

Resolved, That the Bill be read a Second time.

A Petition of Samuell Heming, Gentleman, and John Heming, Apothecary, was presented to the House.

Ordered, That the said Petition be read, when the Bill, from the Lords, intituled, An Act for the limiting the Power of James, now Earl of Salisbury, to cut off the Intail of his Estate, shall be read a Second time.

Aulnage Duty.

Ordered, That the Report from the Committee to whom the Matter touching the Aulnage was referred, be made upon Tuesday Morning next, at Ten a Clock.

Supply Bill; Excise.

Then the House resolved itself into a Committee of the whole House, to proceed in the further Consideration of the Bill for doubling the Excise.
Mr. Speaker left the Chair.
Mr. Solicitor General took the Chair of the Committee.
Mr. Speaker resumed the Chair.
Mr. Solicitor General reports from the said Committee, That they had made a further Progress in the said Bill; and had directed him to move the House, That they may have Leave to sit again on Monday Morning next.

Resolved, That this House will, on Monday Morning next, at Eleven a Clock, resolve itself into a Committee of the whole House, to proceed in the further Consideration of the said Bill; and nothing to intervene.

Leave of Absence.

Ordered, That Sir James Rushout have Leave to go into the Country to the Bath, for Six Weeks, for his Health.

Barnadiston's Estate.

Ordered, That Sir Rob. Rich, Lord Wm. Pawlet, Sir Hum. Forster, Mr. Phil. Foley, Sir Wm. Strickland, Mr. Thomson, Sir Peter Colleton, Sir Tho. Littleton, Mr. Papillion, Mr. Clerke, be added to the Committee to whom the Bill for freeing the Estate of Sir Sam. Bernadiston, Baronet, from several Incumbrances, occasioned by a Judgment heretofore given against him, upon an Information in the Court of King's Bench, is committed.

Making Militia useful.

Ordered, That Mr. Brockman, Mr. Thomson, Sir Wm. Strickland, be added to the Committee to whom it is referred to prepare and bring in a Bill for regulating and making the Militia of this Kingdom more useful.

Prideaux's Claim on Lord Jeffryes.

Ordered, That Mr. Brewer, Mr. Leving, be added to the Committee to whom the Bill for charging the late Lord Jeffryes' Estate in Leicestershire with Fourteen thousand Seven hundred and Sixty Pounds, and Interest, to Edmund Prideaux, Esquire, is committed.

And then the House adjourned till Monday Morning, Eight of the Clock.
