Prayers.

Greenwich Court of Conscience.

ORDERED, That Leave be given to bring in a Bill for erecting a Court of Conscience at Greenwich, and the neighbouring Towns.

Contributions of Members.

Ordered, That every Knight of a Shire do pay Ten Shillings, and every other Member of the House do pay Five Shillings; and that all Defaulters, upon Calling-over the House, do pay double; to be distributed among the Officers of the House, by Mr. Speaker.

Graham and Burton.

Ordered, That the Committee appointed to examine Witnesses, and prepare a Charge against Mr. Graham and Mr. Burton, have Power to send for Persons, Papers, and Records.

Call of the House.

The House was Called-over: And such as made Default to appear, upon their Names being called, according to the Book of Returns, were noted down.

Ordered, That all such Members, who were absent this Day upon the Calling-over the House, do attend upon Monday-next-come-sevennight; or else, that they be proceeded against by the House.

Rights of the Subject.

A Bill for establishing the Rights of the Subject, was read the Second time.

And the Question being put, That the Bill be committed;

It passed in the Negative.

And it being proposed, that the Blank, which is in the Bill, Folio 17, Line 7, be filled up with these Words, "Three-and-twentieth Day of October, in the Year of our Lord One thousand Six hundred and Eighty-nine;"

These Words were twice read; and agreed unto by the House: And the Blank filled up at the Table, accordingly.

Ordered, That the Bill be ingrossed.

Privilege.

The House being informed, that one Wm. Allen, and Dutton Seyman his Attorney, had caused the Servant of Edw. Montague, Esquire, a Member of this House, and one whom the said Mr. Montague affirmed to be his Bailiff, and to whom he paid yearly Wages, to be arrested by James Witham, a Bailiff, notwithstanding the said Mr. Montague had given Notice, that such Person was his Servant; in Breach of the Privilege of this House;

Ordered, That the said Wm. Allen, Dutton Seaman, and James Witham, be sent for in Custody of the Serjeant at Arms attending this House; to answer for such their Breach of Privilege.

Abingdon Election.

A Petition of Sir John Stonehouse, Baronet, was read; setting forth, That, One-and-twentieth Day of May last, the Petitioner was duly elected Burgess for the Borough of Abingdon, by the Majority of Votes, and ought to have been returned; but that, nevertheless, the Mayor of the said Borough, in Breach of his Trust, refused to return him; but hath returned John Southby, Esquire: And praying the Consideration of the House in the Premises: and that a short Day may be appointed for the hearing and determining the Merits of the said Election.

Ordered, That the Consideration of the said Petition be referred to the Committee of Elections and Privileges; to examine the Matter thereof; and report the same, with their Opinions therein, to the House.

And then the House adjourned till To-morrow Morning, Nine a Clock.
