Privilege-Petition from a Person in Custody.

A PETITION of William Flathers, a Prisoner in the Gatehouse, by Order of the House, was read; acknowledging his sorrow for his Offence; and submitting to the House; and begging their Pardon therein.

Resolved, That the said William Flathers be discharged of his said Imprisonment.

Astley's, &c. Nat.

A Bill for Naturalizing Anne Astley, and others, . . . read the Third time.

An Amendment was proposed to be made, by leaving the Name of Edw. Harvey, an Infant, out of the Bill, in respect that his Friends do refuse to pay the Fees for the Bill.

Resolved, That the Name of the said Edward Harvey be left out of the Bill.

And the Bill being amended accordingly at the Table;

Resolved, That the Bill do pass: And that the Title be, An Act for Naturalizing of Anne Astley, and others.

Ordered, That Mr. Papillion do carry up the Bill to the Lords, for their Concurrence.

Witnesses to be summoned.

Ordered, That Mr. Speaker do grant his Warrant, for the Summoning of Witnesses to attend at the Bar of this House, on Monday Morning, to give their Testimony touching the Matter upon the Petition of Martha Bolton, Widow, against the East India Company.

The Accompts delivered in Yesterday by Sir Peter Rich were read.

Ordered, That it be referred to the Committee of the whole House, to whom the Bill for Relief of the City Orphans is referred, to consider of the said Accompts, when they shall proceed in the Consideration of the Bill.

Measures of Corn, &c.

A Bill for settling of Measures of Corn and Grain, was read the Second time.

Resolved, That it be committed to Mr. Boscowen, Sir Matth. Andrewes, Mr. Bickerstaffe, Mr. Parker, Sir Hen. Goodrick, Mr. Carter, Mr. Ellwell, Mr. Thomson, Mr. Carew, Sir Fra. Russell, Sir Cha. Raleigh, Mr. Stockdale, Sir Gilbert Clerke, Mr. Kendall, Mr. Ash, Mr. Babington, Mr. Pelham, Colonel Birch, Sir Rob. Nappier, Mr. Carew, Sir Rob. Rich, Mr. Norreis, Mr. Arnold, Mr. Fenwick, Mr. Christy, Mr. Fawkes, Mr. Cooke, Mr. Foley, Mr. Baldwyn, Sir Rob. Cotton, Mr. Blake; and all the Members that serve for the Counties of Devon, Cornewall, Southampton, Wilts, and Northumberland: And all that come are to have Voices: And they are to meet on Monday next, in the Afternoon, at Four of the Clock, in the Speaker's Chamber.

Resolved, That it be an Instruction to the Committee, That a Clause be brought in for the Exportation of Corn from Berwick, but so as to prevent the Exportation of Scotch Corn from thence; and also to consider of the Tolls and Dues upon Measures.

Leave of Absence.

Supply Bill; Forfeitures.

The Order of * * * for reading the Bill for appropriating the Forfeitures of Five hundred Pounds to the Use of the Publick, was read.

Dissenters Toleration.

Mr. Hamden reports from the Committee, to whom the ingrossed Bill, sent down from the Lords, intituled, An Act for exempting their Majesties Protestant Subjects, dissenting from the Church of England, from the Penalties of certain Laws, was referred, That they had thought fit to make several Amendments to the Bill: Which he read in his Place: and afterwards delivered the same in at the Clerk's Table: Where the same were once read throughout; and afterwards, a Second time, one by one; and, upon the Question severally put thereupon, agreed unto by the House; and are as followeth;

Skin 4, 1. 31, after the Word "Teacher," and before the Word "that," insert these Words, "of any Congregation of Dissenting Protestants."

L. the 39, after the Words "Approbation of," and before the Word, "Articles," insert these Words, "and subscribe."

L. 9, instead of the Word "May," insert the Word "June."

L. 11, after the Word "any," leave out the Word "such;" and insert the Words, "Cathedral or Parish Church, Chapel, or other," before the Word "Congregation."

L. 16, after the Word "Sureties," and before the Word "in," insert these Words, "to be bound by Recognizance."

L. 23. after the Words "Twenty Pounds," and before the Word, "provided," insert these Words, "to the Use of the King and Queen's Majesties, their Heirs and Successors."

L. 29, after the Word "held," and before the Words, "and registered," insert these Words, "or to the Justices of the Peace, at the General or Quarter Sessions of the Peace, for the County, City, or Place."

L. 31, after the Word "respectively," and before the Word, "the," insert these Words, "or recorded at the Second General or Quarter Sessions."

L. 32, after the Word "Register," and before the Word "whereof," insert these Words," or Clerk of the Peace;" and, after the Word "whereof," and before the Word "is," insert the Word "respectively."

Another Amendment was proposed to be made to the Bill, by adding a Proviso, That the Act should continue for Seven Years, and to the End of the next Session of Parliament:

And the Question being put, That the said Clause be read;

It passed in the Negative.

Resolved, That the Bill be now read the Third time.

The Bill was read the Third time.

Resolved, That the Bill so amended do pass.

Ordered, That Mr. Hamden do carry up the Bill to the Lords, and acquaint them with the Agreement of this House thereunto, with the said Amendments; and desire their Lordships Concurrence thereunto.
