Prayers.

Restoring Corporations.

Mr. Solicitor General reports from the Committee appointed to prepare a Bill for restoring Corporations, That they had prepared a Bill accordingly; which they had directed him to present to the House.

The Bill was read the First time.

Resolved, That the Bill be read a Second time on Friday Morning next, at Eleven a Clock.

Reversing Judgment against Sir W. Williams.

Ordered, That Leave be given to bring in a Bill to reverse the Judgment given in the Court of King's Bench against Sir William Williams, in Prejudice of the Rights and Freedoms of Parliament.

Sir Thomas Armstrong.

A Petition of the Lady Katherine Armstrong, late Wife of Sir Thomas Armstrong, Knight, and Katherine, Jane, and Mary, Daughters of the said Sir Thomas, was read; setting forth, That the last Session the Petitioners presented their Petition to the House; whereby they complained of the unjust and illegal Execution in Trinity Term, 1684, awarded by the late Lord Chief Justice Jeffryes, and the rest of the Judges of the King's Bench, against the said Sir Thomas Armstrong: And that he was thereupon executed, and all his Estate of Twelve thousand Pounds Value seized; whereby the Petitioners were reduced to Want and Misery; and that, before the House came to a Result therein, the Sessions ended: And therefore praying the House would please to re-assume their miserable Case, and give them Relief.

Resolved, That a Committee be appointed to examine the Matter thereof; and report the same to the House.

And it is referred unto Sir John Guise, Lord Falkland, Sir Wm. Williams, Mr. Fenwick, Mr. Arnold, Sir Rob. Cotton, Sir Tho. Lee, Mr. Dolben, Sir Tho. Clarges, Mr. Baldwyn, Sir Jo. Moreton, Sir Cha. Raleigh, Mr. Christy, Sir Jos. Tredenham, Mr. Serjeant Trenchard, Mr. Gray, Mr. Mansell, Mr. Reynolds, Sir Wm. Ellis, Sir Ralph Dutton, Mr. Reynell, Sir Walter Young, Mr. Lee, Mr. Niccolls, Mr. Gwyn, Mr. Pelham, Mr. Hollis, Mr. Millner, Sir Gilb. Clerke, Mr. Foley, Mr. Buscawen, Colonel Tipping, Mr. Chetwyn, Mr. Bockland, and all the Members that are of the Long Robe: And they are to meet this Afternoon, at Three of the Clock, in the Speaker's Chamber: And are to have Power to send for Persons, Papers, and Records: And it is to be an Instruction to the said Committee, That they do examine who were the Judges that gave Sentence against Sir Thomas Armstrong, and who were the Prosecutors of him, and who had his Estate, and how the Petitioners may have Reparation; and also to examine, What Proceedings were in order to a Writ of Error by him desired, and how it came to be denied; and also, to state the Law as to Writs of Error in criminal Cases: And they are to make their Report with all convenient Speed.

War Expences.

Sir John Guise acquaints the House, That he was directed by the Committee appointed to inquire into the Expences of the War the last Year, that they may have Power to inquire after the Rates and Prices of the Victuals of the Fleet; and from whom they were had; and of the Goodness of them.

Resolved, That the said Committee have Power to inquire after the Rates and Prices of the Victuals of the Fleet; and from whom they were had; and of the Goodness of them.

Resolved, That the said Committee have Power also to inquire into all Things relating to the Defects and Abuses in the Victualing of the Navy the last Summer.
