Sabbati, 5o Martii

Not to proceed in a Bill.

Mr. Speaker declared the Queen's Pleasure to be, that the Bill for Answering of the Queen's Revenues, for that it extended to divers Accomptants, that already have Accompted, they should not further proceed :

Queen appoints to be attended.

And also, that on Monday next, at Afternoon, this House to be before her Majesty at the Palace; to hear her Pleasure for Dissolution or Prorogation of this Parliament.

Patents.

L. * The Bill for Confirmation of Patents, - committed to Mr. Baker and other, to be reformed.

Armour.

A Proviso, in the Bill of Armour, brought from the Lords, touching Cities and Towns ; and the other Proviso devised by this House to be taken away; to the which the House agreed. -

Sent to the Lords by Mr. Chancellor of the Duchy.

Letters Patents.

L. 2. 3. The Bill for Confirmation of Letters Patents, with a Proviso against John Beaumont. - Jud'm.

Speaking irreverently of the Queen.

For that Mr. Copley, one of this House, hath spoken unreverent Words of the Queen's Majesty, concerning the Bill for Confirmation of Patents, saying, that he feared the Queen might thereby give away the Crown from the right Inheritors ; the House commanded, by

Mr. Speaker, that Copley should absent himself, until Consultation were had thereof: And after Consultation had, and agreed to be a grievous Fault; Copley was called in, and required this House to consider his Youth, and that, if it be an Offence, it might be imputed to his young Years :

It is Ordered, by the House, That the whole House, by Mr. Speaker, may declare this Offence to the Queen's Majesty, and to require her Majesty to extend her Highness Mercy upon him : And in the mean time Copley is committed to the Custody of the Serjeant at Arms.

Person affirming himself a Member, committed.

For that Christopher Perney affirmeth that he is returned a Burgess for Plympton in Devon, and hath brought no Warrant thereof to the House, nor returned hither by the Clerk of the Crown, by Book or Warrant, he is awarded to be in the Custody of the Serjeant, till the House have further considered.
