Elections.

[L. 1.] AN Act for Election of Knights, Citizens, and Burgesses, to serve in Parliament.

Writs Ad quod damnum.

[L. 2a.] An Act for the Restitution of the necessary Use of Writs Ad quod damnum, or Commission or Commissions in Nature of the same : - Committed to Mr. Secretary, Sir Edw. Coke, Sir H. Poole, Sir Sam. Sands, Mr. Hackwyll, Sir M. Fletewood, Mr. Taylor, Sir Guy Palmes, Sir Je. Horsey, Sir Nath. Rich, Sir Francis Darcy, Sir Tho. Wentworth, Sir Ro. Phillippes, Mr. Rolles, Mr. Carvyll, Mr. Finch, Sir Tho. Hobby, Mr. Wentworth: All the Lawyers, that will come to the Committee, to have Voice : - Saturday next, Afternoon, Two of the Clock, in the Star-chamber.

Member admitted.

Mr. Bridges admitted into the House, who before was sequestered.

Member created an Irish Peer.

A Question grown about Sir Jo. Vaughan, late made a Viscount of Ireland. Whereupon Sir Edw. Coke . - That, sithence temp. Ed. III. they have had Parliaments in Ireland; before, and not sithence, bound by our Parliaments. -

That, if the King, by his great Seal of England, make One a Baron of Dubleyne, he is, by that, a Baron of England. That the Lord of Falkelond is created under the Seal of Scotland -

If Sir Jo. Vaughan made Viscount by the Seal of Ireland, he a Baron there, none here : He is to be sued here, as a Knight, [and] to be tried by 12 Men, not per pares. - And then to [have] him to serve here.

Sir H. Poole: - To have both him, and Viscount Falkelond, serve [here.]

Resolved, First to understand, under what Se * * * * * * Vaughan, before any Resolution in this Case

* * agreed.

Report from Lords.

Moved by Sir J. Horsey, for some Assistants * * the Report from the Lords, this Afternoon.

Sir Edw. Gyles, contra. - And Resolved, To rest it * Sir Edw. Coke, and not to distrust him.

Threatening the Life of a Member.

Mr. Speaker openeth to the House, that Yesterday, * Rising of the House, One was taken, with a [Pistol] charged with Three Bullets, who had abused a Member of the House, and called him Knave; and that reported, he said he would kill One of the House, before he had done.

Sir Edw. Coke; - To commit him close Prisoner to the Gatehouse, till he be examined by Sir Edw. Coke, Sir Sam. Sands, Sir Edw. Sackvyle, Sir Ro. Phillippes, Sir Tho. Wentworth, Sir Francis Darcy: Which they are to do with all convenient Speed.
