Sir Jo. Walter, and Mr. Hackwill: - The End of this Bill good; the very Frame naught; cannot be amended.

- To have this rejected, and a new framed against the new Access, for particular Manors, &c. - These general Decrees, precedent and sebsequent, not to be - Upon Question, rejected, without a Negative.

Possession.

L. 2a. - Restitution of Possession, &c.

Sir Jo. Walter: - Though Lessees, Copyholders, &c. cannot have Restitution of Possession, because not disseised ; yet the Lord, or Lessor, may be restored.

Mr. Shervyle, - for the Bill: - For will avoid many Suits; and the Lord, or Lessor, may confederate, and hinder the Tenants Possession.

Coronation Day.

Mr. Speaker remembereth, that this the Coronation Day. - To go this Day to the Abbey, at Nine of the Clock, to the Sermon; and that no Committee sit this Afternoon: And Ordered.

St. Gyles' Sewer.

Mr. Lovell: - That a Common-sewer in St. Gyles',stopped up by Sir Lewys Lewknor.

This to be referred to the Commissioners for Sewers.

Committees during the Recess.

Sir Ro. Phillippes moveth for a Course for settling the Bills and Petitions: For this to be done, every Man that stayeth in Town, to bring in his Name, on Monday Morning, to the Clerk: To Three Committees: To One, the Bills: To the second, the Petitions against Courts of

Justice : The third, Petitions of Grievance. A Time and Place to be appointed for all these; that, by these Three Committees, all those Things may be settled.

Sir Geor. Moore accordeth in Part, viz. for the Petitions; but not to meet upon Bills: That not fit, nor ever, to his Knowlege, used.

Sir Wm. Strowde: - That the Committee for Statutes may, in this Vacation, meet about that Business, and prepare it.

Mr. Hackwyll: - That, upon such an Adjournment as this, the Committees have usually met, and dealt in the Business. - And, for the Petitions, agreeth with Sir Ro. Phillippes Motion; and that this Committee for Grievances, may resolve of a Course for the Proceeding about Petitions of Grievance: And, for the Committee for Statutes, concurreth with Sir Wm. Strowde. - Moveth, this Committee may meet upon Wednesday next, in the Inner Temple Hall.

Mr. Solicitor: - That the Bills ready for Report, may be reported before Recess; and that the Things ordered to be prepared, may be recollected.

Sir Edw. Gyles: - To have some certain Days appointed, this Vacation, for Meetings ; that may attend the Service, and yet have vacant Times to refresh themselves.

Resolved, The Names of all those which stay, shall be given in by them to the Clerk, upon Monday Morning next: Then to make Committees for several Purposes, ut supra: And all Bills, in Committees Hands, to be brought in to the Clerk, upon Tuesday Morning next.

Sir Edw. Sands: - To prepare and finish the Bill, this Vacation, concerning Elections and Returns, and giving Power of an Oath here : - This to be brought in against the Access. 2ly, The Committee for Statutes. 3ly, A Bill for regulating Courts of Justice; especially, setting up new Offices. - Multitudo officiorum perimit rempublicam. - Corporate Towns lay new Impositions; whereby great Gain to the Towns,

Prejudice to all others. A Provision therefore, by a Law, against Increase of Fees, or Impositions. - A Particular in the Custom-house: One to carry down Stuff to Sandwich, for which the Carriage not above 2 or 3s. - 11 s. for Cockets. - All Fees therefore, in Courts of Justice, and elsewhere to be regulated: So the Fees, and Orders, for Prisons.

For the Committee for Grievances; to consider which fit for the whole House ; for others, a Sub-committee to prepare them for the other Committee. - : -

That, for free Trade, 26 Heads; scarce One finished.

- The Causes of Want of Money, a principal. - A Committee, to consider of these 26 Heads, now to be named; and to ripen this for the next Meeting; and to have Power from the House to send for any Persons, Books, &c. for their better Information. -
