Bishop's Speech in Lords.

A BISHOP's Speech in the Higher House. -

Five Sorts of Speakers ;

1. Such, as have not the Faculty to speak, and do not speak ; whereof he was of the Quorum.

2. Such, as depend upon other Mens Judgments, and speak accordingly.

3. Such, as speak like Wherrymen; speak one Way, and think another.

4. Such, as reserve their Speeches, to knock it on the Head.

5. Such, as have the Faculty to speak, and will not; whose Reasons, what they are, nec scio, nec quaero, nec curo.

Adjournment by King's Message.

Sir John Crook and D. Hone bring, from the Lords, a Message from the Lords; That his Majesty's Pleasure is to adjourn this Parliament till Tuesday, the 10th of February. The Causes: Considering the great Travel of the Knights, Citizens, and Burgesses, Committees in this great Matter of the Union, and the Feast of Christenmas approaching ; the Gentlemen solace themselves, and comfort their Neighbours, and perform their Duties in their several Places. Besides, for the common Justice of the Kingdom, in the Term-time, it is adjourned till the Tenth of February, that there may be no Obstacle or Impediment to the Justice of the Realm, during that Time; The Reason of the Adjournment.

Upon this Message, Mr. Speaker adjourned the Court, according to his Majesty's said Pleasure; and Mr. Recorder delivered a Note into the House, of the Agreement of the Committee of both Houses, touching the Matter of the Union : Which is here to be inserted, intituled, Remembrances of the Committees both Houses.

Adjournment of one whole Month, and 23 Days.
