interest thereon. Therefore Treasurer Danby desires
that Mr. Boon's caveat may be withdrawn, so that
Mr. Northcote may proceed in his privy seal for

All powers of Receivers General, assistants or particular
Receivers, appointed by the King and not
by the Act of Parliament for said duties, are to
cease from Oct. 23 last save for arrears due before

Receivers' securities ; to be empowered to collect
their arrears at the end of their farm and to keep
distinct books of account to be inspected as the
Lord Treasurer shall appoint (see supra, pp. 431-541,
and infra under dates 1676, April 16 and Sept. 21).

to said Treasurer in lieu of the like value in tallies
which said Treasurer had striken on the customs,
viz., two several obligations, dated April 12 last,
by Richard Ailey, Thomas Duncombe and Robt.
Steeres, the one of the penalty of 150l. conditioned
to pay 64l. 15s. 5d. at several days [now] past
to the Receiver General of Customs for the new
imposition on wines : the other with the penalty
of 60l. conditioned to pay 26l. 8s. 4d. to same for
the additional duty : on which bonds 68l. was
levied by extent by the sheriffs of London upon
said Ailay, which sum by order of the Exchequer
Court of Hilary term last was directed to be paid
to you, deducting 18d. in the for levying the

Vyner for two years' interest (in accordance with
the patent of 1674, July 23, for two years' interest
to the goldsmiths) on 20,169l. 18s. 6d., payable
upon orders of loan not comprehended in the account
of interest due to said Vyner to 1674, June 25 ;
of which 2,531l. 8s. 9d. for interest, the sum of
111l. 3s. 0d. arises by making interest into principal
every six months : the account as to the present item
being certified by the Auditor of the Receipt the

of St. Paul's, London, in settlement for divers parcels
of land belonging to the Deanery of St. Pauls [of
a yearly value] amounting to 34l. 3s. 3d. per an.,
which were in 1669 enclosed and taken into the new
fort near Tilbury, in Essex, for which the King
was to pay 683l. 5s. 0d., together with the yearly
profits thereof from the date of enclosing same,
which for seven years to Sept. 29 last amounts
to 239l. 2s. 9d., making 922l. 7s. 9d. in all : same
to be paid out of the moneys arising by the sale of
fee farm rents, viz., out of the moneys payable
by said Dean upon a contract made by him for
certain fee farm and other rents payable by the
church of Lichfield and others in the counties of
Stafford, Lichfield, Wilts and Notts.

Charles Bertie to the Hearthmoney Contractors. The

Danby their present want of money to pay poor
workmen, and for other necessary services. His
Lordship desires you to advance them 1,500l.,

you such interest and gratuity as shall be fit.
