Letter of direction for 200,000l. to James Brydges, Paymaster of the Forces Abroad: out of Contributions to be made by Sir John Lambert in behalf of himself and others on the Act now passing [9 Anne, c. 16] for orders payable in course with a certain increase of principal and interest and other advantages as in the said Act; to wit 50,000l. for the first fourth part of said 200,000l. and is to be contributed by said Lambert immediately after the said Act shall have passed the royal assent; and the remaining 150,000l. thereof at the times said Lambert shall contribute same so as it be on or before the respective days appointed by the said Act. The said 200,000l. is intended to be paid over by said Brydges to the said Lambert and other [exchange] remitters in satisfaction for their bills of exchange given to said Brydges about March 29 last for the service of the Forces in Flanders pursuant to their treaty with the Treasury Lords. Letter of direction for 50,000l. to James Brydges, Paymaster of the Forces Abroad: out of Contributions in the Exchequer to the present Lottery [the 1,500,000l. Lottery as by 9 Anne, c. 6]: and is intended to be paid over to Sir John Lambert and other the remitters to complete the 100,000l. for bills of exchange, whereof 50,000l. were given by them May 25 last in bills on Amsterdam at 2½ usance at 10 guilders 11 stivers per pound sterling for the Forces in Flanders and the remaining 50,000l. by bills on Genoa dated May 25 at 60 days at 58 pence sterling per Crown, for the service of the Forces in Spain.
