Memorandum. It appears that there remained on the determination of the Final Account of the late Commissioners of Prizes to 18 March 1708/9 the value of several Prizes not accounted for to them, viz. the Bonadventure, Acquillon, St. Peter, L'Heureux, Superbe, Pontchartrain, L'Hardy, Royal Angelica, Jolly, and the Mathew, for which Arnold Brown, first Agent at Jamaica, or Alexander Hamilton, Agent in the West Indies, are to account. Mr. Hamilton recovered of Arnold Brown 6,999l. 9s. 5d. by a Judgment obtained at Jamaica in part of all Prizes disposed of during his agency. But it does not appear what further part remains unpaid.
Alexander Hamilton is accountable for the Captors' moiety of the following:—
the May Flower, Nostra Signora de Caridad, Nostra Signora de Rosario, La Brave, Jesus Maria Joseph.
Thomas Wood and Joseph Gyde are also accountable for the Captors' moiety of the following:—

the Mariana—stranded on the coast of Ireland;
the Mary and Hope—cast away in coming home;
the Thetis man of war—sunk at sea.
The Prize John de Grace taken by the Newcastle, Capt. Vincent Cutter commanding, in 1708 was disposed of at Barcelona by the Earl of Peterborough, for the service of the Army in Spain. No account has been rendered but the nett proceed is said to amount to 3,067l. 10s. 0d.
Powder, bombs and stores out of a satia, name unknown, taken by the Newport and Tartar were delivered at Niza for the service of the Duke of Savoy valued at 1,650l.; artillery and stores out of a Genoese Prize taken by the Lyme, Capt. Doleman commander, and delivered by the Earl of Peterborough's order to Capt. Scott, Governor of Denia Castle, for the train are valued at 2,060l.
the St. Simon taken by the Antelope, Capt. Cavendish, carried into Porta Specia and delivered to Consul Crow, a moiety of which amounted to 57l. 11s. 0d.; the Captors' moiety hath not been paid because the Antelope having taken a Prize of very great value, the La Mantenon of St. Malo, and carried her into Genoa, had disposed of her themselves without the privity of Consul Kirke, the Prize agent, though they afterwards paid in 1,982l. 8s. 8d. which they called the Queen's moiety, but they have produced no account nor have they claimed for the St. Simon.
the Vigilant of Rochel, taken by the Colchester, Capt. Redman commander, a moiety of which amounted to 38l. 1s. 6d., the Captors' shares are unpaid because the said Captain in company with Capt. Hercules Mitchell in the Experiment took the Impudent, the produce of which amounted to 2,150l. 19s. 11½d. out of which the Crown has received but 8s. 0¾d. and no Captors' List has been returned for the Vigilant.
the Vierge or Windsor's Prize, the Captors' moiety of which amounts to 31l. 12s. 2d. and the St. John Baptist of Audierne the Captors' moiety amounting to 51l. 17s. 3d. were both taken by the said Hercules Mitchell and have not been paid for the reasons mentioned, nor has any Captors' List been returned for either.
It appears by a Certificate signed by the Secretary and Register of the Admiralty in the Leeward Islands dated 12 March 1706 that the following Prizes were taken and appraised and that the value of the gross proceeds remains in the Captors' hands; Alexander Hamilton has compared the Certificate with the Original Register:—

Sir Beville Granville, decd., late Governor of Barbadoes, is accountable for 431l. 19s. 3d. for money received by him from Robert Gibbs, late agent there, for the Lord High Admiral's Tenths of the Amazon, Jermaine and La Marie.
