report on the petition of Mary Cordwent, relict of Richard Cordwent
who furnished the Second Marine Regiment with clothes and sea
beds, it appears that under the Establishment of 17 Feb. 1694–5
six shillings a month was abated out of the men's wages at sea,
and under another Establishment of 19 April 1697 seven shillings
a month was to be similarly abated for clothes. Please send an
account of the moneys remaining in the Navy Treasurer's hands

through the waste ground between the said fowl keeper's house and
the said outhouse "which outhouse being used for tippling in there
is a chimney in it, which standing under the windows of the
petitioner's lodgings must needs be offensive to her, and the said
waste ground and passage being never kept clean is a common
nuisance to the adjacent houses. "All the ground on the south
side of the said fowl keeper's house extending towards Long Ditch

French to embark in his ships and to carry all the castore and other
goods that they had traded for that year: and in November 1696
the Hudson's Bay Company petitioned the King shewing that in
spite of his instructions as above the said Allen had taken on board
all the goods and merchandises in the said Fort and brought them
to England and therefore praying delivery of same; whereupon
the King ordered delivery of same to them which was accordingly
done: further by the 8th Article of the Treaty of Ryswick it is
agreed that the above capitulation of Fort York should be observed
and the merchandises therein should be restored [to the French]
and Commissioners were appointed on both sides for appraising
same and after several meetings they have agreed that the abovesaid
sum of 7086l. 17s. 0d. should be paid to the French in lieu of 15,798l.
demanded by them: which agreement the King is resolved shall
be duly executed although the said amount is not yet recovered
