March 16. Royal letters patent granting to Richard Wallop of the Middle Temple, Esq., the office of one of the Barons of the Exchequer loco George Bradbury Esq., now deceased; with the fee formerly paid to John Sotherton, Esq., father of John Sotherton, Esq., formerly a baron of the Exchequer, for examining the accounts of the Receivers and Ministers of the counties of Yorks, Bucks, Beds, Oxford, Berks, South Wales and the Duchy of Cornwall, and afterwards similarly paid to Sir Edward Bromley, late a Baron of the Exchequer deceased, and lately similarly to Sir Richard Weston one of the Barons of the Exchequer, amounting to 73l. per an.: and further granting to said Wallop the annual fee of 100 marks: all quamdiu se bene gesserit. Treasury warrant [to the Receiver of the Honor of Windsor] to pay to the executors of Sir Thomas Duppa, late Keeper of the House Park at Windsor, the arrears on the 50l. payable, ut supra Calendar Treasury Book Vol. IX, p. 1381, on his undertaking the repairs etc. there. Establishment under the king's sign manual of the officers appointed for the use of the Hospitals in the Low Countries during the ensuing campaign (being identical with the establishment ut supra Treasury Calendar, Vol, IX, pp. 968–9: total 284l. 9s. 0d. per diem).
