Aug. 5 Note of the attestation by Treasurer Southampton and Lord Ashley of the declaration of the additional account of Thomas Lord Windsor, late Governor of Jamaica: being for a charge of 3,536l. 10s. 0d. remaining on the foot of his previous account. Ibid, p. 294.

Treasurer Southampton to the Auditor of the Receipt, dated from Titchfield. "The state of the Queen's allowances being represented unto me some few daies before I went from London and finding upon His Majesties letters patents that warranted the payment of 40,000l. by the yeare unto Her Majesties use to commence from Midsomer was two yeares, that at Midsomer last there will be due to Her Majesty 25,000l." prays him to examine same and to draw an order for the amount due to the Queen thereon. Aug. 9 Money warrant for 190l. to Hugh May, Paymaster of the Works: as by the Privy Seal of the 20th ult. for the repair of His Majesty's seven almshouses, situate in Bishospgate Street, London, in an alley adjoining Clark's Hall without Bishopsgate. Ibid, p 189.

Treasurer Southampton to the Auditor of the Receipt. "His Majesty hath directed by two Privy Seales of the 27th of July the payment of 53,090l. and 40,000l. to Sieur Constantine Huggins Knt. Seignr. de Zuylichem deputy to His Majesty's nephew the Prince of Orange; the one for a debt, the other for the Princess Royal's portion, both which he intends to pay soe soone as his occasions will suite with the same. In the meane time I pray you receive and register those Privy Seales in the Receipt of His Majesties Exchequer, that soe in due and convenient time they may be in a readines to warrant the payments they direct." Aug. 9 Report to the King from Treasurer Southampton on the petition of Capt. John Lloyd, who carried His Majesty's colours in the West till the disbanding at Truro, where he delivered them to Lord Capel, in which service he lost much blood and his estate, praying allowance of his disbursements as a Sub-Commissioner of Excise for cos.
