Mr. Lowther is to pay out of the King's money in his hands the fees of 169l. for the expense of a new body of statutes for University College, Oxford.
Agreed that Sollicoffre's bills for the redemption of captives shall be paid at the Exchequer out of the Civil List Revenues by 2,000l. a week. Warrant ordered thereupon for 6,493l. on those bills now in the Treasury office, and pressed for.

“Mr. Russell, late Consul at Tetuan, is to be shown the state now read to my Lords, by which it appears that after the time of his being recalled and introduced to the King upon his return, his salary, as Consul, was paid to the amount of 741l. 15s. 8d. Therefore, know if he persist in his demand of 157l. 15s. 1d. to balance an account of his expenses in journeying to Morocco and back again.”
Col. Gledhill's petition to be reimbursed the charge of provisions burned at Placentia read. Their Lordships adhere to the minute of 1733–4, March 7.
John Rogers and Sarah Wheeler to attend on Thursday next, concerning Wheeler's petition about a house in the Savoy.
Wm. Burton to be a landwaiter and searcher, Glasgow, loco Wm. Holland, appointed a landwaiter in the inferior list, London port, loco Burton, “being an exchange agreed between them without any pecuniary consideration.” [Ibid. p. 356.] |

153. Affidavit by Wm. Dry, sworn at Cape Fear, North Carolina, in June, 1735, and attested by him on oath October 8 following, of the conversation at Cape Fear on the said former date between John Hammerton, Receiver General of His Majesty's provinces and territories of Carolina, and Gabriel Johnson, Governor of North Carolina, on the subject of the appointment of Eleazer Allen to succeed Hammerton and of the grants of land made by the Governor on his own authority.
Together with (1) certificate by Thos. Broughton, [Lieutenant] Governor of South Carolina, as to the integrity of aforesaid Wm. Dry, a member of the Commons House of Assembly of South Carolina, and lately Speaker of same; and also of John Hammerton's zeal and integrity.
(2) Copy of Hammerton's protest, dated 1735, June 30, against his suspension by the Governor as above.
(3) Copy of the minutes of the Council of North Carolina in session at Edenton 6 March, 1734–5, when the above appointment of Allen was resolved upon on the ground of “the Receiver General's living out of this province, and that there is a considerable arrearage of quit rents now due to His Majesty, the same ought to be immediately collected, which of course will take a considerable part of the present currently to pay off the said arrearage, which when received would then be in the power of the present Receiver to take out of this province and prevent the circulation thereof amongst the inhabitants, and that, as the Receiver General is Secretary and Receiver General of the province of South Carolina, he is by virtue of his said offices obliged to reside within the said province, by which means the receipt of His Majesty's rent is here neglected.” In duplicate, the first copy containing a certificate, dated South Carolina, 1735, October 8, by John Hammerton of his having appointed Nathaniel Rice, Secretary of North Carolina, to be his Deputy-Receiver in North Carolina. 8 pages.

Wm. Rollinson's petition read for compensation for losses on his contract for supplying claret for the King's cellar. Referred to the Board of Greencloth.
Coote Molesworth, being appointed physician to the forces in garrison at Minorca, is to be paid out of revenues of Minorca— per diem from date of his commission: “but inspect the establishments for allowances made to physicians or surgeons and the places where.”
Order for a sign manual for 200l. to Josiah Diston, as royal bounty.
Same for same for 200l. royal bounty to Thos. Robe, “and in consideration hereof Mr. Robe is to obtain the surrender of certain letters patents, by which he and John Matthews hold the office of Clerk of the Market of His Majesty's Household during their lives and the life of the survivor of them, so as the said office may be extinguished for the future.”
Order for the issue of 131,280l. to the Paymaster of the Forces out of supplies 1735, for two months' subsistence to the forces to 1735, December 24, and for pensions to the widows of reduced officers, as in his memorial of the 14th instant.

Corbett, Paymaster to the Charity for the Relief of poor Widows of sea Officers for value of the victualling of widows of men on the books of His Majesty's ships paid between 1733, July 1, and 1735, September 5.
John Rogers and Sarah Wheeler attend. The minute of June 24 last confirmed. Rogers to continue in possession of the house in the Savoy during pleasure, continuing Wheeler as his tenant, and paying her 21l. for her repairs.

The Customs Commissioners' memorial of. the 24th instant concerning purchasing the inheritance of two taverns, the “Vine and the Hose” and the “Dolphin,” upon which great buildings and conveniences have been made, read and agreed to, as bringing a save of 140l. per annum rent.
Mr. Lowtner is to pay out of the King's money in his hands twenty guineas to Mr. Josh. Schicke, as royal bounty.
Same to pay out of same 846l. 13s. 4d. to John Walthoe, junr., for “Daily Gazetteers” sent to the Post Office 1735, July 1, to September 30.
The memorial of the Paymaster of the Forces of the 9th instant enclosing Sir Joseph Eyles's proposal for remitting subsistence money to Minorca and Gibraltar 1735, October 25, to December 24 read and agreed to as follows, the rates of exchange being certified to be as usual:—viz., 24,800 dollars for Gibraltar payable at sight in gold at 54½d. per dollar; 13,250 dollars for Port Mahon payable at sight in gold at 55d. per dollar.
