Feb. 7/17. Thomas Browne to his cousin Thos. Barham at the foot of Holborn Hill.
Great stir against the English and their goods. Has saved himself by becoming naturalized and is now a burgess of Rouen, at the cost of 20l. Concerning a certain gentlewoman, who has written to Lady Warwick to be a means to her Lord, that her Uncle Moyle may be protected, but has had no answer. She is a suitor to the Spanish ambassador to have the pension that King gave her husband, which is promised.—"Rouen, 17 February after the French computation, 1587."
