March 2–21. 287. Court Minutes of the East India Company. Committee for timber, and to audit the accounts, that order may be taken for clearing the Company’s debts, or a course adopted to avoid the clamour of those whose bills are unpaid.
March 6.—Financial statement: owing by the Company about 9,000l.; in the treasurer's hands, 814l.; due by those who have brought in no part of their adventure, 5,000l.; by those who have brought in part, and for the supply of 2s. in the pound, 2,000l. Money warrants.
March 13.—Warrants for wharfage, porterage, and lading of the ships.
March 21.—The long–boat of the Ascension to be sold. A storehouse to be provided. Bill of adventure for 220l. to Stephen Hodgson [“the bill stayed” in the margin]. Order to bring in accounts. Warrant to pay 12l. 8s. 6d. to Thos. Hewys, clothworker. [Four pages. Court Bk., I., 64–66.]
