May 24. 645. The King to the States General. Having heard all that the States Commissioners had to propose in reference to the navigation of the Indies, His Majesty deputed Commissioners to treat with them upon the matter, who although they have had many conferences find that the differences cannot yet be satisfactorily settled. The King has advised that they be referred to a future treaty, and is willing, as soon an possible, to depute Commissioners for that purpose. French.
