Miscellaneous 1666

[1666?] 1,111. Don Joseph del Castillo to (?) Sir Joseph Williamson. I have two brothers with their families at Bauroma in America who carry on the trade of slave-holders, but have received notice that by order of Lord Willoughby, Governor of Barbados, the English have taken possession of that country and treat the settlers very ill. I beg you from compassion upon this misfortune of those poor men that a letter of recommendation may be sent to Lord Willoughby in their favour. Spanish. ½ p. [Colonial Papers, Vol. LXV., No. 10.]
