Oct. 10.
Madrid.		 28. Sir John Digby to Sir Dud. Carleton. Advertisement received of ships sent from Andalusia, ready to attempt the settlement of Virginia. News since come from Seville that the Spaniards have overthrown the English in Virginia. Has been assured by the Secretary of State that no such information had come to his knowledge, but he added that the Spaniards were much discontented that the plantation had been "handled" in the Council of State in England, and that they thought it very unfit that a company of voluntary and loose people, as he termed them, should be allowed to proceed in what might prove of so much inconvenience to the King of Spain.
