12 Kal. Jan. St. Peter's, Rome. (f. 100d.)		 To the abbot of Kelsow in the diocese of St. Andrews. Mandate to reserve and afterwards to collate and assign to Robert Penven, priest, rector of Sowdon in the diocese of Glasgow, bachelor of canon law, the canonry and prebend of Capyt alias Balderen in Dunkeld, value not exceeding 24l. sterling, to become void shortly by the provision which the pope recently ordered to be made to John Stewart of the deanery, previously reserved, of the same church, a major dignity, to which another prebend is annexed; notwithstanding that he holds the said parish church, the value of whose fruits etc. and of those of the perpetual vicarage of Closbern in the said diocese, which he canonically receives, does not exceed 60l. sterling, and a number of tithes of sheaves of the parish church of Mortoun in the same diocese, value not exceeding 15l. To the dean of Kilmacduagh, Mandate (the pope having been informed by Denis Olyga, priest, of the diocese of Kilmacduagh, that John Odonchua, canon and precentor of Kilmacduagh and perpetual vicar of the parish church of Clekeallyd and the place of Bach in the said diocese, has publicly kept a concubine and committed perjury etc.) if Denis (who was lately dispensed by papal authority, as the son of a priest and an unmarried woman, to be promoted to all, even holy orders and hold a benefice even with cure, after which, having been so promoted he obtained the said vicarage by authority of the ordinary, and was subsequently by sentence removed therefrom) will accuse etc. as usual before the above dean the said John, who is a priest, to summon John, and if he find the above to be true, to deprive him of his canonry and prebend of Munynyayn, precentorship and vicarage, and in that event to collate and assign the said canonry and prebend and the said precentorship, a non-major dignity, value together not exceeding 3 marks sterling, and the said vicarage, value also not exceeding 3 marks, to Denis; whether they become void by such deprivation, or be void already in any way, or the vicarage be void by the death without the Roman court of Laurence Ylyga. Denis is hereby dispensed, on account of the said defect etc., to receive the said benefices, and to hold the said precentorship and vicarage together for life. (f. 199.)		 To the provost and Niallanus Ohaenagan, a canon, and the official, of Achonry. Mandate (the pope having been informed by Thomas Macabrethim, a canon of Achonry, that Cornelius Oheara, dean of Achonry, has publicly committed perjury, (fn. 3) has dilapidated and withdrawn goods belonging to the deanery, is of insufficient learning, and has permitted his subjects to traffic in the said church) (fn. 4) if Thomas (who was lately dispensed by papal authority, as the son of unmarried parents, to be promoted to all, even holy orders and hold a benefice even with cure, after which, having been so promoted, he was received by authority of the ordinary as a canon of the said church) will accuse Cornelius before them etc. as usual, to summon Cornelius, and if they find the above to be true, to deprive Cornelius and in that event to collate and assign the said deanery, a major elective dignity with cure, value not exceeding 10 marks sterling, to Thomas, whom the pope hereby dispenses on account of the said defect etc. to hold it. 4 Kal. Feb. St. Peter's, Rome. (f. 209d.)		 To the abbot of Clare (de Furgyo) in the diocese of Killaloe and Patrick Olyga, a canon, and the official, of Cloyne. Mandate (the pope having been informed by Donald Olyga, clerk, of the diocese of Kilmacduagh, that Andrew Ponson, chancellor of Cloyne and Cornelius Ohyfaer, a canon of Killaloe have, each of them, publicly kept a concubine and committed simony etc.) if Donald will accuse the said Andrew, who is a priest, and Cornelius before the above three etc. as usual, to summon Andrew and Cornelius, and if they find the above to be true, to deprive Andrew of the said chancellorship and Cornelius of his canonry and prebend of Discert Maellycala, and in that event to collate and assign to the said Donald, who was lately tonsured notwithstanding his illegitimacy as the son of a priest and an unmarried woman, the said canonry and prebend and the said chancellorship, a non-major dignity, value not exceeding 5 and 10 marks respectively; whether they become void by such deprivation, or be void by the resignation of the said holders, or the said chancellorship be void because Thomas Bilian, a priest, when holding it obtained the rectory of Cleannyr in the diocese of Cloyne, or whether they be void in any other way, and the said chancellorship be elective and have cure. Donald is hereby dispensed to be promoted to all, even holy orders and hold the said and four other benefices with or without cure compatible with one another and with the above two benefices, even if they be canonries and prebends, dignities etc., and to resign all, simply or for exchange, as often as he pleases, and hold instead six compatible benefices.
