1439–[40.] 6 Id. Jan. Florence (f. 14.)	To Walter Stewart, archdeacon of Aberdeen. Collation and provision to him, who is by both parents of a race of barons, is a kinsman of James, bishop of Dunkeld, and was a kinsman of the late James, king of Scots, of the said archdeaconry, a non-major, non-elective dignity with cure, value not exceeding 50l. sterling, void and ipso facto reserved, by the death without the Roman court of Thomas Tynnynghame, a papal chaplain; whether it be so void, or by the resignation of the said Thomas, or in any other way. Nobilitas generis, vite etc.

1439[–40]. 6 Non. March. Florence (f. 298).	To the abbot of Leix (de Lege dei) in the diocese of Leighlin. Mandate—the pope having been informed by Maurice Oleachlinn, clerk, of the diocese of Leighlin, that John Oruayrc, treasurer of Sutyll in the church of Leighlin, after having incurred sentence of the greater excommunication, the penalty of his disobedience to a monition of bishop Thomas to reside in person, as is customary, in the said church, and after having been publicly proclaimed excommunicate, has openly celebrated mass and other divine offices in contempt of the keys, and has dilapidated divers goods of the said treasurership, whereby he has contracted irregularity—if the said Maurice (who has been dispensed by authority of the ordinary, as the son of a priest and an unmarried woman, to be promoted to all minor orders and hold a benefice without cure) will accuse John before him, to summon John, and if he find the above or enough thereof to be true, to deprive him, and in that event to collate and assign the said treasurership, a non-major dignity, value not exceeding 3 marks sterling, to Maurice, who is hereby specially dispensed to be promoted to all holy orders and hold it.
