Mandate to collate and assign to Laurence Pyot, priest, of the diocese of St. Andrews, B.A., the perpetual vicarage, value not exceeding 10l. of old sterlings (decem librarum Turonen. [rectius antiquorum] sterlingorum), of Forgrunde in the said diocese, void by the death of John Huntar, or otherwise void; notwithstanding that the pope lately granted provision to him of the perpetual vicarage, value not exceeding 20 marks of like sterlings (marcharum sterlingorum similium), of Langforgund in the same diocese, about which he is litigating in the apostolic palace, which grant shall be null upon his obtaining Forgrunde. Mandate to collate and assign to Donald Ogillasenayn, clerk, of the diocese of Killaloe, who lately received papal dispensation, as the son of a priest and an unmarried woman, to be promoted to all, even holy orders and hold a benefice even with cure, the perpetual vicarage, value not exceeding 8 marks of silver, of Kylkoyis in the said diocese, void because Robert Mackahayn held it for more than a year without being ordained priest; whether it be void as stated, or by the death of Donatus Mackahayn, or by the resignation of the said Robert, or otherwise, and notwithstanding that the pope lately [below, f. 226d] ordered provision to be made to him of the sacristship of the church of Inyskathy in the said diocese, an office with cure, value not exceeding 4 marks of the said money, with which he is hereby dispensed to hold the said vicarage for seven years. Mandate to grant in commendam to Thady Macgillapadrig, clerk, of the diocese of Ossory, who is in or about his sixteenth year and is of a noble race of princes, until he attains his twentysecond year, the rectory of the parish church of St. Magymog de Rosconnyll in the said diocese, value not exceeding 12 marks sterling, void by the death of John Fynan, and after he has attained the said year to collate and assign to him the said rectory; whether it be so void, or because Donatus Omolkayl held it for more than a year without being ordained priest, or otherwise, and notwithstanding that he holds the rectory of the said (sic) church of Donnachmor [in the said diocese], which is regarded as having cure, but has not (que habitu non tamen actu curata existit), the value of whose fruits, which he has not yet received, does not exceed 8 marks sterling. He is hereby dispensed to hold the said rectory of Rosconnyll after attaining the said year, and is, upon obtaining it, to resign Donnachmor, as he has himself offered. Dignum arbitramur. Mandate to collate and assign to Patrick Mackamaeil, perpetual vicar of Tamplachefynlogayn in the diocese of Derry (who is the son of a priest and an unmarried woman, and is by both parents of a race of dukes, to whom the pope ordered provision to be made of the said vicarage, and whom he at the same time dispensed, notwithstanding his said defect, to be promoted to minor and all, even holy orders and hold the said vicarage, after which dispensation, having obtained the same, he was promoted to the said holy orders) the perpetual vicarage of Dunbo (also written Dumbo) in the said diocese, value not exceeding 8 marks, void by the death of John Omulcheir; notwithstanding that he holds the said vicarage of Tamplachefinlogayn, value also not exceeding 8 marks, with which he is hereby dispensed to hold that of Dumbo for life. Mandate to collate and assign to Matthew Macculeayn, priest, of the diocese of Killaloe, the perpetual vicarage of Cluony in the said diocese, value not exceeding 6 marks, void because Matthew Macconmara held it for more than a year without being ordained priest, although the said Matthew, who is to be summoned and removed, has continued to unduly detain possession after the end of the said year for about two years. Mandate—Cornelius Magungail, priest, of the diocese of Raphoe, having informed the pope that Odo Ochonmail, rector of Kalkachday in the said diocese has committed perjury and simony etc. and has neglected to celebrate and cause to be celebrated divine offices in the said church—if Cornelius will accuse Odo before them, to summon Odo and others concerned, and if they find the facts to be as stated, to deprive Odo, and in that event to collate and assign the said rectory, value not exceeding 6 marks, to Cornelius. Mandate to collate and assign to William Ocuachan, clerk, of the diocese of Killaloe, the rectory of Roscre in the said diocese, value not exceeding 32 marks, of the patronage of laymen, so long void, because Cornelius sive Cuchagri Macgillapoil held it more than a year without being ordained priest, that its collation has lapsed to the apostolic see, although the same Cornelius, whom William cannot safely meet in the city and diocese of Killaloe, and who is to be summoned and removed, has unduly detained possession after the lapse of the said year. Mandate to collate and assign to Donald Macmalcomaill', rector of the parish church of St. Connanus de Huig in the diocese of Sodor, who is a subdeacon, and who lately received papal dispensation, as the son of an unmarried man and an unmarried woman, to be promoted etc. as above, f. 141d, the rectory of Srathwatardail in the said diocese, value not exceeding 7 marks sterling, so long void, because Donngarius (sic) Macdunchaidcalatoidh held it for more than a year without being ordained priest, that its collation lapsed to the apostolic see, although Columba Macgillabridi, priest, of the said diocese (whom Donald cannot safely meet within the city or diocese of Sodor, and who is to be summoned and removed) has, under pretext of a collation made to him by the ordinary after the said lapse, unduly detained possession for more than two years; notwithstanding that Donald holds the rectory of the said church of St. Connanus, value not exceeding 4 marks sterling, which he is to resign upon obtaining Srathwatardail. Collation and assignation to him—who lately, holding the perpetual vicarage of Termonffeghyn (also written Tremonffeghyn) in the diocese of Armagh, received dispensation to hold for two years therewith any benefice with cure or otherwise incompatible [Cal. Lett. VII, p. 445]—of the pèrpetual vicarage of St. Peter's, Drocheda, in the diocese of Armagh, value not exceeding 15 marks, void and therefore reserved by the death at the apostolic see of Thomas Rossell, who was also an abbreviator of apostolic letters; notwithstanding that he holds the said vicarage of Tremonsfeghyn (sic), value not exceeding 24 marks. Mandate to collate and assign to Thomas Wischard, priest, of the diocese of Glasgow, the perpetual vicarage, value not exceeding 20l. sterling, of Kilpatryk in the said diocese, void by the death of John de Lowdown, summoning and removing John de Bynnyn (also written Bynnen), priest, of the said diocese, who has unduly detained possession for more than 18 months, but less than two years. Mandate to collate and assign to Gilbert de Bannory, priest, of the diocese of Glasgow (who lately received papal dispensation, as the son of a priest and an unmarried woman, to be promoted etc. as above, f. 141d, after which dispensation the pope ordered to be committed to him the poor hospital of Geratblathan [cf. f. 306d] in the said diocese of Glasgow, with cure and value not exceeding 20l. sterling, of which he has not got possession) the chancellorship of Dunblane, a non-major dignity with cure, value likewise not exceeding 20l. sterling, to which is annexed the perpetual vicarage of Kilmodac in the diocese of Dunblane, so long void by the death of Adam de Port that its collation has lapsed to the apostolic see, although William Clerk, priest, who obtained it under collation made to him by authority of the ordinary after the said lapse, and who is to be summoned and removed, has unduly detained possession for about six years; whether it became void as stated, or by the death of Donald Geleson, or in any other way. He is hereby dispensed to receive it, and to hold it for life with the said hospital, and to resign both, simply or for exchange, as often as he pleases. Vite etc. (Ri. xx. To Christopher Pontfret, M.A. Collation and provision to him, who is a priest and also a bachelor of canon law, of the perpetual vicarage, value not exceeding 24l. sterling, of Caral in the diocese of St. Andrews, void and reserved by the promotion made by the pope of George, bishop of Lismore, to that see, and by his consecration, which took place by the pope's order; notwithstanding that he holds a canonry and the prebend of Moy in Moray, and that he was lately presented by its lay patron, and has perhaps been instituted, to the parish church of Glasford in the diocese of Glasgow, value not exceeding 12l. and 18l. sterling respectively, which latter church he is hereby dispensed to hold with the said vicarage for five years. Mandate to collate and assign to Donald Macmenman Ydomnaill, canon of Raphoe, who lately received papal dispensation, as the son of an unmarried man and an unmarried woman, to be promoted etc. as above, f. 141d, the rectory of Cluayndocorach in the diocese of Raphoe, value not exceeding 10 marks, void and reserved because Eneas Micgillabridi, who is to be removed, when holding the archdeaconry of Raphoe, a non-major dignity, obtained the said rectory and held it and the said archdeaconry-together for six years, against Execrabilis; notwithstanding that Donald has been received by authority of the ordinary as a canon of Raphoe. Mandate to collate and assign to Malachy Ogallenbare, clerk, of the diocese of Raphoe (who lately received dispensation by authority of the ordinary, as the son of an unmarried man and an unmarried woman, related in the third and fourth degrees of kindred and the third and third degrees of affinity, to be promoted to minor orders and hold a benefice without cure) the rectory of Cluayn Dabuadog in the said diocese, value not exceeding 12 marks, void because Maurice MacCarmayc Ydomnaill, sometime (olim) abbot of the Cistercian monastery of Assaroe (Sameria) in the said diocese, having been promoted by the said authority, when holding the said rectory, to be abbot of the said monastery, obtained possession of the administration etc. of the goods of the said abbey, or at least of the greater part thereof. Mandate to collate and assign to Gilbert de Bannori, priest, of the diocese of Glasgow, who lately received papal dispensation, as the son of a priest etc. as above, f. 141d, in virtue of which he was so promoted, the poor hospital of Strathblathan in the said diocese, with cure, wont to be assigned as a perpetual benefice to secular clerks, value not exceeding 20l. sterling, void and reserved by the death of William de Chonigan, its rector, a papal chaplain; summoning and removing Robert Storm, priest, of the said diocese, who has unduly detained possession for almost two years, under a collation made to him by authority of the ordinary. 7 Id. May. SS. Apostoli, Rome. (f. 311.)	To Nemeas Obeollayn, Donatus Odubda and Ranaldus Orothlayn, canons of Killala. Mandate—the pope having been informed by Rory (Ruaricus) Macgilladiub[h], clerk, of the diocese of Killala, that Cormac Odubda, perpetual vicar of Killglaissi in the said diocese, has dilapidated many of the goods of the said church and has committed simony and perjury, leading an unhonest life and neglecting to reside and have mass and other divine offices celebrated in the said church—if Rory will accuse Cormac before them, to summon Cormac and others concerned, and if they find the aforesaid or enough thereof to be true, to deprive Cormac, and in that event to collate and assign the said vicarage, value not exceeding 6 marks, to Rory, whether it be void by the said deprivation, or because the said Cormac held it for more than a year without being ordained priest, or be void in any other way.
