Mandate to collate and assign to Cornelius Chymye (rectius Ohymur), canon of Limerick, who is by both parents of noble race, if found fit, the canonry and prebend of Disert called Molacale in Killaloe, value not exceeding 4 marks, void by the death of John Olongan, summoning and removing Maurice Oconguli, priest, of the diocese of Limerick, who took possession by his own temerity and without any right or title, and has detained it for more than two years but less than five (per biennium citra tamen quinquennium et ultra); notwithstanding that he holds the canonries and prebends of Kylkyde in Limerick and Cubene (sic) in Cloyne (Cluennen.), value together not exceeding 8 marks, and that the present pope has recently granted him provision of the rectory of Croom (Croma) in the diocese of Limerick, of the patronage of laymen and value not exceeding 20 marks [above, p. 413]. Mandate to collate and assign to Cornelius Olongsygh, clerk, of the diocese of Killaloe (who was lately dispensed by papal authority, as the son of unmarried parents, to be promoted to all, even holy orders and hold a benefice even with cure, after which he had himself made a clerk) the canonry and prebend of Disarten [g] asa in Limerick, value not exceeding 8 marks, void by the death of Edmund Fistidan (rectius Fitz Adam alias MacAdam, see above, pp. 2 and 75, and Cal. Lett. VI, p. 397); whether they be so void or be void in any other way, and whether they be reserved, specially, or generally because the said Edmund was a continual member of the household of Jordan, bishop [now] of Sabina, then of Albano; notwithstanding that the pope lately [above, p. 417] ordered provision to be made to him of the perpetual vicarage of Da[n]ghean in the diocese of Ardfert, value not exceeding 12 marks. Mandate to collate and assign to Philip Ohedyan, clerk, of the diocese of Cashel—who is of noble race, has studied at Oxford and was lately dispensed by papal authority, as the son of a priest and an unmarried woman, to be promoted etc. as in the preceding, and to whom the pope this day intends to order provision to be made of the deanery of Cashel, and intends to collate and assign to him the canonry and prebend of Kylcadan (sic) in Cloyne (et cui eciam hodie de decanatu Cassellen. prouideri mandare et canonicatu (sic) Clonen. ecclesiarum et prebenda (sic) de Kylcadan in eadem certis modis vacantibus (sic) conferre et assignare intendimus)—the canonry and prebend of Fyniour in Cashel, value not exceeding 10 marks, void by the death without the Roman court of Dermit Ocormich. Collation and provision to him—who … promoted etc. as in the preceding, and to whom the pope intends this day to order provision to be made of the deanery and of a canonry, with the prebend of Fynnour, of Cashel (cuique hodie de decanatu et canonicatu ecclesie Cassellen. necnon prebenda de Fynnour in eadem certis modis vacantibus prouideri mandare intendimus)—of the canonry and prebend of Kylcridan in Cloyne (canonicatum et prebendam Clonen. … apostolica tibi auctoritate conferrimus et de illis eciam providemus, cf. the preceding), void at the apostolic see, and therefore reserved, by the promotion by Martin V of William, bishop of Elphin, to that see, and by his consecration, which took place by order of that pope at the said see; the value thereof, together with that of the said canonry and prebend of Cashel. not exceeding 10 marks. Reservation to the pope's gift, for collation to him—who is M.A., and became licentiate of canon law by examination, and who was lately dispensed by papal authority, as the son of an unmarried nobleman and an unmarried woman, to be promoted to all, even holy orders and hold two benefices, even if one had cure or were a dignity with cure or a canonry and prebend in a cathedral or a collegiate church, and to resign them, for exchange or otherwise, once only—of the canonry and prebend of K[i]nnoer in Moray, value not exceeding 20l. sterling, which are to become void upon Ingram Lyndesay's obtaining the precentorship of Moray, a non-major dignity, to which a certain canonry and prebend are annexed, in virtue of the provision which the pope lately ordered to be made to Ingram thereof [above, p. 336]; notwithstanding that he holds the treasurership of Aberdeen, a non-major dignity with cure, to which a certain canonry and prebend are annexed, value not exceeding 30l. sterling. Mandate to collate and assign to Adam Pembrock, priest, of the diocese of Waterford, the precentorship of Waterford, a non-major non-elective dignity with cure, value not exceeding 9 marks, so long void, because the late Thomas Forstall when holding it obtained, by collation made by authority of the ordinary, the perpetual vicarage of Dunkyt in the diocese of Ossory, that its collation has lapsed to the apostolic see; summoning and removing Roger Stanton, priest, of the diocese of Ossory, who has for more than six months unduly detained it under pretext of a collation made by the said authority after the said lapse; whether it be void as stated, or by the death of the said Thomas, or in any other way. Mandate—the pope having been informed by Donald Macmeanman Ydomhnaill, rector of Cluaindacorcach in the diocese of Raphoe, that Cornelius Magillabrighdi, priest, and Nicholas Magmallgusa, clerk, of the said diocese, both claiming a right in the deanery of Raphoe, simoniacally agreed that Cornelius should hold it and that Nicholas should receive from him yearly a part of the fruits—seeing that Donald, on account of Cornelius's power, has no hope of obtaining justice in the city or diocese of Raphoe, if Donald will accuse Cornelius before him, to summon Cornelius and others concerned, and if he find the facts to be as stated, to deprive Cornelius, and in that event to collate and assign the said deanery, a major dignity, value not exceeding 30 marks, to Donald, if found fit, who is a priest and who was lately dispensed by papal authority, as the son of a priest, professed of the Cistercian order, and an unmarried woman, related in the fourth degree of kindred, to be promoted to all, even holy orders and hold a benefice even with cure, and who was thereafter received by authority of the ordinary as a canon of Raphoe; notwithstanding that he holds the said rectory. Collation and provision to him, who is also M.A., and is a licentiate of canon law by examination, of the still void and still reserved precentorship of Glasgow, a non-major nonelective dignity with cure, to which a certain canonry and prebend of Glasgow are annexed, value not exceeding 60l. sterling, which became void and therefore reserved by the death of John de Hawik, a papal chaplain, his acceptance and the provision made to him thereof (in virtue of letters of the present pope by which provision had been ordered to be made to him of a canonry of Glasgow and another of Dunkeld, with reservation of as many prebends and of a dignity etc. of one of them, even if elective and with cure) being null and void; notwithstanding that he holds the perpetual vicarage of Mearns (de Mernis) in the diocese of Glasgow, which he is to resign upon obtaining the said precentorship, and the canonry and prebend of Buchodir in Dunblane, of lay patronage, value not exceeding 15l. and 4l. sterling respectively. Mandate—the pope having been informed by Malachy Offlannagan, perpetual vicar of Brechmaid in the diocese of Mayo, that William Bremeceam, archdeacon, and Thieus Omurcu, canon of Mayo, are public concubinaries and notorious fornicators, neglect and are unfit to manage their ecclesiastical goods, are dilapidators and useless consumers thereof, and are diffamed in those parts of perjury, adultery and incest and other crimes—if Malachy, who is a priest and of noble race, will accuse them before him, to summon them, and if he find the above or enough thereof to be true, to deprive William of his archdeaconry, a nonmajor dignity, and Thieus of his canonry and prebend of Balla, value not exceeding 4 marks each, and in that event to collate and assign them to Malachy; whether they be void by such deprivation or in any other way, or the archdeaconry be void by the resignation of John de Burgo alias Yubain, or by the death of Celestine [Ycearnaid], (fn. 2) and whether the canonry and prebend be void by the death of Philip Ycearnaid, and whether the archdeaconry be elective and have cure; notwithstanding that Malachy holds the said vicarage, value not exceeding 2 marks, with which he is hereby dispensed to hold the archdeaconry for five years. Mandate to collate and assign to Awly (A[u]lauus) Olongsygh, canon of Killaloe—who has studied for four years canon and civil law at Oxford in the diocese of Lincoln, and has been dispensed by papal authority, as the son of a priest and an unmarried woman, (i) to be promoted to all, even holy orders and hold a benefice even with cure, (ii) provision having been ordered to be made to him by the said authority of the canonry and prebend of Inyskathych in Killaloe, to receive and hold them—the precentorship of Limerick, a non-major dignity with cure, value not exceeding 32 marks, void by the death of Alan Makeneri, whether it be void so or in any other way, and whether it be reserved specially, or generally because the said Alan Makeneri was sub-collector of the papal camera in the city and diocese of Limerick, and whether it be elective; notwithstanding that by the said authority provision was lately made to Olongsygh of the said canonry and prebend, and ordered to be made to him of the parish church of St. Catherine, Okonyl, in the diocese of Limerick, value not exceeding 30 and 20 marks respectively, and that he was dispensed to receive and hold the said church. He is hereby dispensed on account of the said defect to receive and hold the said precentorship, upon obtaining which he is to resign the said church, if he obtain it, or all right in and to it. To the priors of St. Mary's, Killagh (de Belloloco), and St. Mary's, Ynysfathlyn, in the diocese of Ardfert, and the archdeacon of Aghadoe (de Achadeo) in Ardfert. Mandate to collate and assign to Donatus Macneill, perpetual vicar of Kayrbetislayn (sic) alias Ynysdasliuogh in the diocese of Ardfert—who is by both parents of noble race, and who was lately dispensed by papal authority, as the son of unmarried parents related in the fourth degree of affinity, (i) to be promoted to all, even holy orders and hold a benefice even with cure, (ii) to hold three other mutually compatible benefices with or without cure, and to resign all, simply or for exchange, as often as he pleased [above, p. 402]—the treasurership of Ardfert, a non-major nonelective dignity with cure, value not exceeding 6 marks, void and reserved to the pope because Maurice Ohullocchayn, bachelor of canon law, who is to be summoned and removed, when holding the rectory of Rynduera in the said diocese, obtained it, collated to him by authority of the ordinary, and held it with the said rectory for more than a month without dispensation against ‘Execrabilis,’ and thereafter detained it for more than eight years, as he still does, without any new provision; notwithstanding that Donatus holds the said vicarage of Kayrber[i]slayn, value not exceeding 8 marks. 1432. Id. Nov. St. Peter's, Rome. (f. 284.)	To the abbot of Clare (de Clar alias de Forgio) in the diocese of Killaloe, and the archdeacon and treasurer of Killaloe. Mandate, at the recent petition of Bernard Oconchuyr, clerk, of the diocese of Ardfert—containing that on the voidance of the deanery of Ardfert, a major dignity, by the death of David Fizmorus (sic), Martin V, in pursuance of his general reservation of major cathedral dignities, ordered provision to be made to Maurice Stake, a canon of Ardfert, which provision was null because no dispensation had been obtained by the said Maurice, who is illegitimate, and whose father (genitor) was then holding, as he still does, the archdeaconry of the said church—the said pope having died without disposing otherwise of the said deanery, which therefore remains reserved, to summon the said Maurice, who, as Bernard says, has unduly detained the said deanery, under pretext of the said letters, for more than five years, and on account of whose power Bernard has no hope of obtaining justice in the city or diocese of Ardfert, and to collate and assign the said deanery, with cure and elective, value not exceeding 23 marks, to Bernard.
