1444. Prid. Kal. Jan. St. Peter's. Rome. (f. 120.)	To Henry, king of England. Dispensation, at his petition (containing that for the peace and tranquillity of the realms of France and England he has contracted marriage per verba legitime de presenti with Margaret, daughter of René (Renati), king of Sicily, and for the said reason desires its speedy consummation; and adding that the sea voyage to England is during the winter apt to be prolonged by reason of storms and tempests), to solemnly celebrate the nuptials before the church and consummate the said marriage on days when it is forbidden to do so. 1444–[5]. 7 Id. March. St. Peter's, Rome. (f. 196d.)	To the archbishop of Armagh. Mandate, seeing that Donatus, bishop of Kilmore (Triburnen.), who is in his seventieth year and more, proposes on account of his age and an incurable disease to resign, to receive his resignation, and to make provision of the said see to Andrew Mebzradzyd (sic), archdeacon of Kilmore, who is an acolyte, is in his fiftieth year and more, is of noble race, and is very skilled in canon and civil law; provided that he find him fit, that he find no fraud or deception against the said Donatus, nor any simony between him and the said Andrew. In the event of his making the said provision to Andrew he is to confer on him all holy orders, even extra tempora and, assisted by two catholic bishops, is to consecrate him and, before he receives possession of the administration, is to receive from him the usual oath of fealty to the pope.
