If there be no fixed number of monks therein, and the monastery be not overburdened by such transfer, or, even if there be a fixed number and one be wanting, the transfer is to be made at once; if not, it is to be made as soon as there is a monk lacking. Mandate to appropriate to the Cistercian abbey of Holycross in the diocese of Cashel, value not exceeding 20 marks, the rectory, value not exceeding 6 marks, of the parish church of Ballynaclogh (de Vadopetroso), commonly called Balynychloly, in the diocese of Killaloe, the cure of which is exercised by a perpetual vicar; so that, if the rectory be void by the resignation of Odo Iogayn, or because he held it for more than a year without having himself ordained priest, or be in any other way already void, or when it shall become void by the resignation or death of the rector, the abbot and convent, whose resources are insufficient for their maintenance and for hospitality etc., may take possession. Mandate, at the recent petition of Henry Driden, Augustinian canon of Holyrood, Edenburch, licentiate of canon law—containing that on the voidance of the Augustinian priory of St. Mary's Isle (Insula Sancte Marie) in the diocese of Whiteherne by the resignation of Patrick Wyrdirsp[o]nne to bishop Alexander, that bishop made collation of the said priory, which depends on Holyrood and has been wont to be governed by canons thereof, has cure and is non-elective, value not exceeding 100l. sterling, to the said Henry, who had had papal dispensation, as the son of a married man and an unmarried woman, to be elected and appointed to any dignity, even that of abbot, or otherwise receive and hold any benefice of the said order, even if a priory—inasmuch as Henry doubts whether the said provision holds good, to collate and assign to him the said priory which, as the pope has learned, is still void.
