Mandate to collate and assign to William Vachan, rector of Llansandurn in the diocese of Bangor, if found fit in Latin, the archdeaconry of Mirionnith in Bangor, a dignity with cure, not major and not elective, value not exceeding 100 marks, void because the late John ap Ris ap Roppert obtained by collation of the ordinary and held therewith for a year and more, without dispensation, the precentorship of St. Asaph, also a dignity with cure. Upon his obtaining the archdeaconry William is to resign the said church. Dignum arbitramur.

Mandate to grant to Cornelius Onreagra, scholar, of the said diocese, who, he asserts, is in his tenth year, dispensation, as the son of a subdeacon, a religious, and an unmarried woman, to be, upon reaching a fit age, promoted to all, even holy orders; and to collate and assign to him, when thus dispensed, and when tonsured, and if found fit in Latin, the chancellorship of Killaloe, a dignity, not major, value not exceeding 8 marks, void by the death of Charles Macmachuyn. The pope hereby dispenses Cornelius, on account of his said illegitimacy and defect of age, to hold it. Dignum etc.

Mandate to collate and assign to Robert Fiz Hugf (sic), rector of St. Leonard's, Estchop, London, in the diocese of Canterbury (sic), M.A, if found fit in Latin, the chancellorship of Dublin alias of Karleyl (sic), a dignity, not major, without cure and not elective, value not exceeding 100 marks, void and reserved to the apostolic see by the death of John de Karloel alias de Karleyl, collector to the camera in the city and diocese of Dublin; notwithstanding that the said Robert—who lately received papal dispensation to hold for seven years, with the rectory of Mortun in the diocese of Lichfield (which he then held, and which he subsequently resigned, obtaining St. Leonard's, value not exceeding 60 marks), one other benefice, even if a perpetual vicarage or an elective dignity, major or principal respectively, personatus, administration or office, in a metropolitan, cathedral or collegiate church, and to resign both simply or for exchange as often as [he pleased] and hold instead two similar or dissimilar incompatible benefices—(sic, the sentence being unfinished). Mandate, with the usual anteferri clause, to collate and assign to Augustine Macbradaich, perpetual vicar of the united parish churches of Drong and Leactrach in the diocese of Kilmore, priest, procurator of letters of the papal penitentiary, the archdeaconry of Elphin, a dignity, not major, value not exceeding 60 (sic) marks, void because the late Maurice Offlannagan obtained and held therewith for a year and more [without dispensation] the rectory of Athdruma in the diocese of Kilmore. Upon obtaining the archdeaconry he is to resign his vicarage. Vite ac morum.

Mandate, also with the anteferri clause, to collate and assign to Magonius Otaic, priest, of the diocese of Kilmacduagh—on whose behalf it has this day been set forth to the pope that he was formerly rehabilitated by the pope on account of his having successively obtained and held together for some time the treasurership of Kilmacduagh, which is a dignity, the parish church of Killenari, and the perpetual vicarage of Distrgelli, in the diocese of Kilmacduagh, and that the pope required him, as he himself also offered, to resign all three—the archdeaconry of Elphin, a dignity, [not major], value not exceeding 24 (sic) marks, void by the death of Maurice Oflainagain. Upon obtaining the treasurership, he is to resign his church. Dignum arbitramur.

To Henry Chichele, D.C.L. Collation and provision to him, a priest, of a canonry of Lincoln, with reservation of a prebend and dignity, even if major and elective, personatus or office, with or without cure; nowithstanding that he holds canonries and prebends of Salisbury, with the archdeaconry thereof, a dignity with cure, Lichfield, St. Martin's-le-Grand, London, and Abergwyly, and the parish church of Bryngton, in the diocese of Lincoln; is litigating in [those] parts about a canonry and prebend of the Benedictine nuns’ monastery of Shaftesbury; and has lately had papal dispensation to hold together the said archdeaconry and church. After five years from the present date he shall be unable, under these presents, to accept or cause provision to be made to him of a prebend or dignity, personatus or office, and if within the said period he do not so accept a prebend, he shall cease to be a canon of Lincoln. Further, as soon as under these presents he obtain a dignity, personatus or office with cure (curatum), he is to resign whichever he prefer of his said archdeaconry and church. Collation and provision to him, a priest, of a canonry of Abbergwili and another of Landewibrevi, in the diocese of St. Davids, with reservation of a prebend of each; notwithstanding that he holds the perpetual vicarage of Berryw in the diocese of St. Asaph, value not exceeding 20 marks, and that the pope has recently [below, f. 178] granted him provision of a benefice with or without cure in the common or several gift of the bishops [etc.] of St. Asaph and Bangor. After five years from the present date he shall be unable, under these presents, to accept or cause provision to be made to him of a prebend, and if within the said period he do not so accept prebends, he shall cease to be a canon of the said churches. Vite etc.

Mandate to make provision to Henry Poule, perpetual vicar of Maynen in the diocese of Kildare, if found fit, of a canonry of Dublin, and to reserve to him, in accordance with his fitness in Latin, a prebend thereof and a benefice with or without cure, or a benefice without cure only, value not exceeding 25 or 18 marks accordingly, in the common or several gift of the archbishop and dean and chapter and each of the canons and persone of Dublin, provided that such benefice be not a canonry and prebend in a cathedral church. As soon as he obtains such benefice with cure he is to resign his said vicarage. After five years from the present date he shall be unable, under these presents, to accept etc. a prebend or benefice, and if meanwhile he be received as a canon of Dublin and do not so accept a prebend, he shall thereafter cease to be a canon of Dublin.
