Requiring and exhorting them to convoke their clergy, secular and regular, exempt and not exempt, mendicant friars alone excepted, and to induce them to give the pope a charitative subsidy for the divers and almost unbearable burdens of expense caused by schismatics; the archbishop of and bishops—who are not to omit their own proportions—have each faculty, if by common counsel it be decided to grant such subsidy, to receive it and give acquittance.
