To the archbishop of York, and the bishop of Durham. Mandate to inform themselves, and to compel John Fossour, prior of Durham, to whom the collation of canonries and bends of Howden is said to belong, to revoke the contract by which, to the injury of the papal camera, the canonry and prebend of Thorp in Howden, void by the death of Arnald, cardinal of St. Eustace's, and reserved to the pope, were given to Master Ralph de Blaykeston by his brother, Roger de Blaykeston, a layman, who purchased the right of presentation from the said prior, not withstanding that Master Bernard de Sistre, archdeacon of Canterbury, collector of the fruits of void benefices in England, held the said canonry and prebend for many years for the papal camera, and that the pope recently gave them to Master Robert de Turre de Adria, papal abbreviator.

Appointing him to that see, void by the death of William [de Melton]; the said dean having been elected by twelve out, of seventeen canons, resigned his right in the contested election between him and William de Kildesby, canon of the said church, whose pretended election was annulled by Gotius, cardinal of St. Prisca's.
