To Itherius de Concoreto, canon of Salisbury, papal nuncio. Commission and mandate to ascertain the value of the yearly fruits, rents, and profits of the archbishop of Cashel, and to send a report under seal to the pope. Walter, who has been translated from Cork to Cashel, states that his predecessor Stephen promised to pay a subvention of 728 marks to the papalcamera and college of cardinals, although the income of the see hardly reached 350 marks. Four successive archbishops have been unable to pay the sum promised, the balance of which now amounts to 11,200 florins, while the income of the see has come down to 250 marks. The pope is therefore prayed to give relief.
