To the dean of Limerick, and John Maclanchai and Henry Machcosdelun, canons of the same. Mandate to collate and assign to John Ogriffa, perpetual vicar of the parish church of Carnarij in the diocese of Limerick, the perpetual vicarage of the parish church of Fedemor in the same diocese, yearly value not exceeding 8 marks sterling, in the presentation of the prior and convent of the monastery, wont to be governed by a prior, of Cathar, O.S.A., in the diocese of Lismore, so long void that by the Lateran statutes its collation has lapsed to the apostolic see, although John Mac[h]anna[ct? ] alias Omulloni, priest, has detained possession, without any title or right, for between one and two years, summoning the said John Machannact, inducting the said John Ogriffa, and removing the said John Machanna[ct? ]; notwithstanding that he holds the said vicarage of Carnarij, yearly value not exceeding 6 marks sterling, with which the pope hereby specially dispenses him to receive and retain the said vicarage of Fedemor for life, and to resign it, simply or for exchange, as often as he pleases. To the precentor of Dunkeld, and Stephen de Caciis (?), a canon of Vercelli (Vercellen.), and the official of Dunkeld. Mandate, as below. The recent petition of John Sym, priest, of the diocese of Dunkeld, contained that upon the parish church of Kilmabenotht [sic] in the same diocese, of the patronage of the earl of Athol (Adolie), becoming void (because John Boulrill [sic] alias Bouoklen obtained, by a collation made to him by authority of the ordinary, peaceable possession of the parish church [of] Abirilloc [sic] in the diocese of St. Andrews), John, earl of Athol (Adolye), the sole patron of the said church of Kilmabenotht [sic], presented the said John Sym to the then bishop of Dunkeld, who by his ordinary authority instituted him, and that in virtue of the said presentation and institution he obtained possession; that upon a suit arising between the said John Boulrille [also written Boukil and Bokill] and John Sym about the said church of Kilmanenotht [sic], Sixtus IV, at the latter's instance, committed the cause, although it had not devolved to the Roman court, to Master Anthony de Grassis, a chaplain of the said and of the present pope, and an auditor of causes of the apostolic palace, who is said to have proceeded, short of a conclusion. Seeing that the said John Boukil [sic] has this day ceded to the pope the said suit and cause, and all his right in or to the said church of Kilmanenotht, and seeing that, as the said petition added, the said John Sym doubts whether the said presentation and institution hold good, and the pope having learned that the said church of Kilmanenotht is still void, as above, he hereby calls up the said cause to himself and, extinguishing the suit, orders the above three to collate and assign the said church of Kilmanenotht, yearly value not exceeding 8l. sterling, to the said John Sym, and to induct him, etc. Vite ac morum.
