9 Kal. Sept. (24 Aug.) St. Peter's, Rome. (f. 32v.)	To the abbot of St. John the Evangelist's, Tuam, and Thady Othyarny and John de Burgo, canons of Tuam. Mandate, as below. The recent petition of Donatus Magorni, priest, of the diocese of Tuam, contained that on the voidance in a certain way of the perpetual vicarage of the parish church of Cenlaca in the said diocese, Richard Omolanna, priest, and David Ocyllyd, a canon of St. Mary's, Cong (de Cunca), O.S.A., in the said diocese, successively obtained mandates of provision from the apostolic see, and that the executors thereof successively made collation and provision to the said Richard and David; that a suit arose between them before the said executors, and that a suit also arose between them and Edmund Joy, priest (who alleged that provision had been made to him, by authority of the ordinary, of the said vicarage, void as above) before certain commissaries appointed by the chapter of Tuam, the church of Tuam being then void; and that, after litigation had gone on for some time between the said parties, the said Richard and David, without the authority of any superior, divided the fruits, etc., of the said vicarage between them, and still do so. The said petition adding that it is alleged that none of the said Richard, David, and Edmund has a right in or to the said vicarage, the pope hereby orders the above three to summon them and others concerned, and if they find that none of them has such right, to collate and assign the said vicarage, yearly value not exceeding 4 marks sterling, to the said Donatus, and induct him, removing any unlawful detainer; notwithstanding that the pope lately granted him provision of the perpetual vicarage of the parish church of Rafra(n)na in the diocese of Killala (Aladen.), yearly value [likewise] not exceeding 4 marks sterling. 9 Kal. Oct. (23 Sept.) St. Peter's, Rome. (f. 39r.)	To the prior of the monastery, wont to be governed by a prior, of Ragell in the diocese of Limerick, the dean of Limerick, and Hobert de Burgo, a canon of the same. Mandate to grant in commendam for life to Geoffrey Artur, treasurer of Limerick (who is by both parents of noble birth, and who holds together by papal dispensation the said treasurership, which is a non-major non-elective dignity with cure, and the perpetual vicarage of the parish church of Kyllfeyll in the diocese of Limerick), the priory of St. Cross by the Bridge of Limerick, of the order of St. Mary of the Cruciferi, yearly value not exceeding 60 marks sterling, to the commenda whereof, which was held by the late Thomas, bishop of Limerick, by papal grant and dispensation, has ceased by his death extra R.c., so that the said priory is still void in the same way as when it was granted in commendam to the said bishop, the said Geoffrey's intention being, by the power of himself and his friends, to restore and repair the buildings of the said priory, augment divine worship therein, and restore its possessions, well nigh alienated and destroyed; in whatsoever way the said priory became void, even by the deaths of Walter Hakert [sic] and Thomas Mackraghe extra R.c., or by the resignation, etc., of the said bishop and George Ofyllan, clerk, of the said diocese, who [both] held it in commendam by papal grant, and Richard Ficzadan [sic], sometime prior, and the said Thomas and Walter, or any other. 8 Id. Sept. (6 Sept.) St. Peter's, Rome. (f. 100r.)	To the abbots of St. Mary, Kylcowyll [sic], and St. Mary's, Howtyrlawne, in the diocese of Cashel, and the precentor of Cashel. Mandate, as below. Lately the pope, upon learning that the rectory of the parish church of St. David, Insywolachom [sic], in the diocese of Ossory, which was alleged to be of the patronage of clerks or laymen, had been so long void that its collation had lapsed to the apostolic see, although John Morgan, priest, of the said diocese, had under pretext of a presentation and institution made to him by authority of the ordinary after the said lapse detained possession for some years, ordered certain judges in those parts to collate and assign it, howsoever void, to William Dullard, priest, of the said diocese; and subsequently the pope ordered provision to be made to Richard Fostall (who was holding a canonry and prebend of Ossory) of the precentorship of Ossory, then about to become void in a certain way, the pope's will being that as soon as he got peaceful possession thereof, he should resign the said canonry and prebend, as is more fully contained in the pope's respective letters, the former of which stated that the said William was of noble birth. The said canonry and prebend being therefore to become void by the obtaining of the said precentorship, and the recent petition of the said John containing that the said William Dullard is not of noble birth, the pope, seeing that if this be true the said former letters are surreptitious, and seeing that from fear of the power of the said William the said John cannot safely meet him in the city and diocese of Ossory, hereby orders the above three to reserve to their gift, for collation to the said John upon their becoming void, the said canonry and prebend, and moreover to summon the said William and others concerned, and if and after they find the foregoing to be true, to decree and declare the said former letters and their consequences to be null and void, and in the event of their so doing, and if in the result of the suit they find that the said John, too, has no right in or to the said rectory, to collate and assign it to him, and also the said canonry and prebend, yearly values not exceeding 10 and 5 marks sterling, respectively, and induct him, removing any unlawful detainers. 1484. Prid. Id. Sept. (12 Sept.) St. Peter's, Rome. (f. 127v.)	To the precentor of the church called [the church] of Our Lady, St. Andrews, and the official of St. Andrews. (fn. 2) Mandate, as below. After Sixtus IV's reservation of all benefices with and without cure which should become void at the apostolic see, the perpetual vicarage of the parish church of Kilmani (fn. 3) in the diocese of St. Andrews became void, and therefore reserved, as above, by the death at the said see of Andrew Zoung, to whom provision thereof had been made by papal authority, and who had not had possession; and the said pope, wishing to make a special grace to Alexander Dobi, priest, of the diocese of Glasgow (who alleged that Laurence Oburu (?), clerk, had for six years detained possession of the said vicarage, void as above, without any title), willed and granted under date 9 Kal. Dec. anno 13 [23 Nov. 1483], that the said Laurence and others concerned should be summoned, and that the said vicarage, yearly value not exceeding 9l. sterling, should be collated and assigned to the said Alexander, whether it were void as above, or by the deaths at the said see of James Scot and James Doles (to whom provision had respectively been made), or of Thomas Kanedi extra R.c., or by the resignation of the said Andrew, or James Doles, or James Scot, or Thomas, or because the said Andrew had been a continual commensal member of the household of Raphael, cardinal deacon of St. George's in Velabro, or whether it were void in any other way, etc. The said letters of pope Sixtus not having been drawn up by reason of his death, the pope hereby decrees that the said grant shall nevertheless take effect from the said date thereof, and that these presents shall be sufficient proof thereof, and orders the above two to summon the said Laurence and others concerned, and collate and assign the said vicarage to the said Alexander in accordance therewith, inducting him, and removing the said Laurence and any other unlawful detainer. 1486. 14 Kal. Sept. (19 Aug.) St. Peter's, Rome. (f. 135r.)	To Roger Maconnuge, (fn. 4) Magonius Mastagarth (fn. 5) [sic], and Donald Ocearbalhain [sic], canons of Derry (Daren.). (fn. 6) Mandate to collate and assign to John Olasci, a canon of Raphoe (who holds a canonry of Raphoe, of no value) the perpetual vicarage of the parish church of Clynk in the diocese of Derry (Deren.), yearly value not exceeding 8 marks sterling, void in a certain way, although Thomas Mumneath, priest, has detained possession for some time under pretext of a collation made to him by authority of the metropolitan, during voidance of the church of Derry (Deren.), inducting him, and removing the said Thomas and any other unlawful detainer. 10 Kal. Aug. (23 July.) St. Peter's, Rome. (f. 212r.)	To the dean of Killala (Aladen.), and Thomas Obruchan and John Odonachan, canons of the same. Mandate to collate and assign to Donatus (fn. 7) Mogoran, priest, of the diocese of Tuam, who holds no benefice, the perpetual vicarage of the parish church of Rafinnad in the diocese of Killala, yearly value not exceeding 4 marks sterling, so long void that there is no certain knowledge of the last way of its voidance, and that by the Lateran statutes its collation has lapsed to the apostolic see, although Miles Baird, priest, of the said diocese, who is to be summoned and removed, has detained possession for between three and four years without any canonical title.
