Bullarum Communium Lib. LI. Tom. LVI.
9 Sixtus IV.
1480. 8 Kal. July. (24 June.) St. Peter's ad Vincula, Rome. (fn. 1) (f. 31r.) |
To the dean of Armagh, the prior of the Culdees (Kyllideorum) in that church, and the official of the same. Mandate, as below. The pope has been informed by John Magynd, clerk, of the diocese of Dromore, that Eugenius Oronaga, a canon of Dromore and prebendary of Druymerrac therein, in order to obtain the said canonry and prebend, made a bargain to the effect that if their then holder, Magonius Obyrnd, would resign them, with a view to provision being made to Eugenius, the latter would pay him an annual pension from their fruits, etc., which he did; that Magonius resigned, and that Eugenius got possession and has detained it for between four and five years, thereby incurring excommunication etc. for simony, besides which he has dilapidated the moveable goods of the said canonry and prebend. The pope, therefore, hereby orders the above three, if the said John (who has been dispensed by papal authority on account of illegitimacy, as the son of unmarried parents, to be promoted to all, even holy orders and hold a benefice even with cure), will accuse Eugenius before them, to summon the latter and others concerned, and if they find the foregoing to be true, to declare the provision which was made to Eugenius null and void, and remove him, and in that event to collate and assign the said canonry and prebend, value 4 marks sterling, to John, the pope hereby dispensing him to hold them, and, if he resign them, any other benefice with or without cure, and to resign or exchange it. Vite ac morum. (In the margin: Jul.) [5½ pp.] |

8 Kal. July. (24 June.) St. Peter's, Rome. (fn. 1) (f. 86r.) |
To the dean of Derry (Deren.) and Donald Ockarowilayn and Donald Obracyn, canons of the same. Mandate, as below. The pope has been informed by Bernard Obuyl, clerk, of the diocese of Derry, that Magonius Omurissa, rector of Leamcyll in the said diocese, is a fornicator, has celebrated mass etc. in presence of persons under the greater excommunication, wittingly and in contempt of the Keys, and has dilapidated the movables of the said church. He therefore hereby orders the above three, if the said Bernard (who has been dispensed by authority of the ordinary on account of illegitimacy, as the son of unmarried parents spiritually related, (fn. 2) to be made a clerk) will accuse ….. true (as in the preceding, mutatis mutandis), to deprive and remove the said Magonius, and in that event to collate and assign the said church, value 4 marks sterling, to Bernard, the pope hereby dispensing him to be promoted to all, even holy orders and hold it. Vite etc. (In the margin: Jul.) [4½ pp.] |
6 Sixtus IV.
1477. 17 Kal. Sept. (16 Aug.) St. Peter's, Rome. (f. 153r.) |
To the archdeacon of Dunkeld, the treasurer of Glasgow, and Guy de Moreaul, a canon of Autun (Eduen.). Mandate to collate and assign to John Fresel, priest, of the diocese of St. Andrews, M.A. and bachelor in decrees, the perpetual vicarage of Dumberne in the said diocese, value 9l. sterling, void because Thomas Lowcrist (fn. 3) has obtained, by collation made by authority of the ordinary, a perpetual chaplaincy at the altar of St. John in the church of St. Bride, Aberneti, in the diocese of Dunblane, which requires personal residence, and is otherwise incompatible. Litterarum scientia, vite etc. (In the margin: Aug.) [3 pp. See Reg. Vat. DCII, f. 17v., below.] |

Mandate to collate and assign to Hubert (Hobertus) de Burgo, clerk, of the diocese of Tuam, the perpetual vicarage of Turlach in the said diocese, value 3 marks sterling, so long void that there is no certain knowledge of its mode of voidance, and that its collation has lapsed to the apostolic see, although Richard Ocann (fn. 4) (?), priest, of the said diocese, who is to be summoned and removed, has detained it for between six and eight years without any title; notwithstanding that the said Hubert holds a canonry of Killala (Aladen.), without a prebend. Vite etc. (In the margin. Augusti.) [3 pp.] |
