(f. 279d.)
To the abbot of Rossglas alias de Rossualle in the diocese of Kildare (Daren.), and the dean of Kildare. Mandate, as below. The pope has been informed by Gerald Oeconcobuyr, clerk, of the diocese of Kildare, that Eugenius Oeconcobuyr, canon of Kildare, has wilfully committed divers murders, (fn. 6) dilapidated the goods of the said [sic] (fn. 7) rectory, is a notorious fornicator, and, after being canonically admonished to reside in the aforesaid church [of Kildare] (in ecclesia prefata), served it neither in person nor by deputy. The said Eugenius having thus rendered himself unworthy of his canonry and prebend of the said church of Kildare, to which is annexed the rectory of the parish church of St. John Baptist, Monasteroris (de Castra [sic] petri), in the said diocese, the pope hereby orders the above abbot and dean, if Gerald will accuse Eugenius before them, to summon Eugenius and others concerned, and if they find the foregoing to be true, to deprive and remove Eugenius from the said canonry and prebend and rectory, which has cure, and in that event to collate and assign them, value not exceeding 10 marks sterling, to Gerald.
