Mandate to collate and assign to James Kenadi, clerk, of the diocese of Glasgow, M.A. (who was lately dispensed by papal authority, notwithstanding his illegitimacy as the son of an unmarried baron and an unmarried woman, to be promoted to all, even holy orders and hold any compatible benefices of any number and kind, with or without cure, even if canonries and prebends, dignities etc., and to resign them, simply or for exchange, as often as he pleased) the parish church of Inchbrik in the diocese of St. Andrews, value not exceeding 45l. sterling, void at the apostolic see, and therefore reserved, by the resignation of James Lyndesay made there to James Bouron, vidame of Reims, deputed by the pope judge and executor for the purpose; summoning and removing James Lyndesay, clerk, of the diocese of Brechin, who under pretext of a collation and provision which the said vidame made thereof to him, when he was too young for the purpose (fn. 2), and had obtained no dispensation in the matter, has unduly detained possession for some months, but less than a year.Dignum etc. (T. and P. Mandate (the pope having been informed by Bernard Osloynd (rectius Ofloynd), clerk, of the diocese of Tuam, that Thady Ofloynd, rector of Rathfaranayn in the said diocese, has dilapidated and alienated and uselessly consumed the possessions thereof, and, a notorious fornicator, has committed divers other crimes, about which he is defamed in those parts, to the shame of the clerical order), if and after Bernard (who lately, without mention of his illegitimacy as the son of unmarried parents related in the fourth degree of affinity, had himself made a clerk) accuses Thady before the above three, to summon Thady, and if they find the above to be true, to deprive and remove him, and in that event to collate and assign the said rectory, of the patronage of laymen and value not exceeding 10 marks sterling, to Bernard, whom the pope hereby dispenses to act as a clerk, and to be promoted to all, even holy orders and receive and retain the rectory, and to resign it, when (quando) he pleases, simply or for exchange, notwithstanding the said defect etc. Vite etc. (P and G. Mandate (the pope having been informed by Thomas Odomnall, clerk, of the diocese of Annadown, that Walter de Burgo, rector of the rectory of the parish churches [sic] of Gnobeg in the said diocese, has dilapidated and alienated and uselessly consumed many moveables of the rectory, and, leading an unhonest life, has frequented taverns and other unhonest places and has long neglected to keep personal residence in the rectory, that on account of his carelessness and bad government a number of laymen have usurped tithes and other obventions of the rectory, and that he has been and is at present greatly defamed about these things in those parts, to the contempt of the priestly order) if and after Thomas (who lately, without mention of his illegitimacy as the son of unmarried parents, had himself made a clerk, and whom the pope hereby absolves from all sentences of excommunication etc. as far only as regards the taking effect of these presents) accuses Walter before the above three, to summon Walter, and if they find the above to be true, to deprive and remove him, and in that event to collate and assign the said rectory, of the patronage of laymen and value not exceeding 12 marks sterling, to Thomas, whom the pope hereby dispenses, notwithstanding the said defect etc., to act as a clerk and be promoted to all, even holy orders and receive and retain the rectory, whether it be void as above, or by the non-promotion to the priesthood within the lawful time of the late Odo Ohallmurayn, clerk, or by his death, or by the resignation of the said Walter or Odo, or in any other way, and notwithstanding the said patronage, from which the pope for this turn only specially derogates.Vite etc. (A. and G. Mandate to collate and assign to Donald Omithian, clerk, of the diocese of Kilmore (Triburnen.) (who lately, without mentioning his illegitimacy as the son of unmarried parents related in the second degree of affinity, had himself made a clerk, and whom the pope hereby absolves from all sentences of excommunication etc. as far only as regards the taking effect of these presents) the perpetual vicarage of Kaylleasnayd in the said diocese, whose value, with that of its annexes, does not exceed 6 marks sterling, void because Cornelius Maclochlayn Yruayrc, having obtained it by canonical collation, held it for more than a year without having himself ordained priest and without dispensation, although the said Cornelius, who is to be summoned and removed, and from fear of whose power Donald cannot safely meet him in the city and diocese of Kilmore, has unduly detained possession after the lapse of the said year without having acquired any fresh canonical title; whether it be void as above, or by the death of Cornelius Meclochlayn Yruarc the elder, priest, or in any other way. Mandate (the pope having been informed by John Leslee alias Lytstar (sic), priest, of the diocese of St. Andrews, that Peter Benig, an Augustinian canon professed of Holyrood, Edinburct, in the said diocese, perpetual vicar of Blacat in the diocese of Glasgow, has publicly kept a concubine, even in his own dwelling house, and has dilapidated and converted to unlawful uses the immoveable goods of the said vicarage), if and after John accuses before the above three the said Peter (who has also, as John alleges, for several years unduly detained the said vicarage, even after its collation had by the Lateran statutes lapsed to the apostolic see, together with the per˙petual vicarage of Ur (fn. 4) in the said diocese of Glasgow, under pretext of a union made by authority of the ordinary for false and fictitious causes set forth by the said Peter), to summon Peter, and if they find the above or one of them enough for the purpose to be true, to deprive and remove him from the said vicarage of Blacat, and in that event to collate and assign it, value not exceeding 8l. sterling, to John. Mandate to collate and assign to Moricius son of Dugald (Dougaldi) Macneil, rector of the parish church of Kilblane (Sancti Blaani) in Kyntyr, in the diocese of Lismore alias Argyll, who is by both parents of noble birth, the perpetual vicarage of the parish church of Kilcalmonell (Sancti Colmoneli) in Knapdale in the said diocese, value not exceeding 8l. sterling, void at the apostolic see, and therefore reserved, by the recent resignation made to the pope of Patrick de Cornton; notwithstanding that he holds a canory of Lismore and the prebend called of St. Columba, value not exceeding 8l. sterling, and the said rectory (here spelt Sancti Balaani), value likewise not exceeding 8l. sterling. Upon obtaining the vicarage he is, as he has offered, to resign the rectory of St. Mary in Arein (fn. 6) (i.e. Kilmoran in Arran) in the diocese of Sodor, which he is also holding by papal dispensation.
