Indenture, dated 18 August, 40 Elizabeth, witnessing that Nicholas Allen of the Woodhouse, gentleman, has demised to Thomas Yeveley of the Chapel in le Frithe, gentleman, of a messuage in the occupation of Thomas Yeveley, father of the lessee, for twenty- one years from the death of the said Thomas the father at a yearly rent of 5l., and of a messuage in the occupation of Elizabeth and John Swindels, for twenty-one years from the expiry of a lease made by George Allen, father of the lessor, to William, John and George Swindels, and the survivor of them, at a yearly rent of 5 nobles; the lease to be void on payment of 20l. by 2 October next, but the lessor may not demise the premises to any other than the present lessee without the latter's consent; if no such payment be made, the lessee within a year shall pay 46l. 13s. 4d., whereupon a further assurance of the premises shall be made to him.
